Hi,

I have a set of Tein NR's on my car and was originally told that they are height adjustable. The car got serviced this week and I asked the guys to raise it up a bit cause it scrapes on everything. Anyway they told me when I picked it up that it isn't height adjustable, it's just one setting....

Does anyone have NR's and can tell me if they are or are not adjustable???

Cheers

Brett

I think you mean HR Brett.

I've got HA driving master kit on the GTR (Including castor rods...thanks for the pick up on that one GTRKen !!) which are height and damper adjustable.

Have a look at one of the rear shocks, specifically the bit where the spring is stopped at the bottom. They are height adjust. if there are two movable spring seats, the one closest to the bottom of the spring (the top ring) is the bigger one. The bottom ring locks the top one off at the height selected.

What a poor explanation.

Basically you unlock the bottom ring then wind the top spring seat up or down to the desired height then screw the locking ring (bottom one) back into place and viola new ride height.

Boostmeister,

I have read that site, and from what I understood (which isn't a great deal to be honest!!!) they are 4 position adjustable. The link you sent talks about the C RING TYPE HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT MECHANISM on NR/NA dampers....

Oh well, not a great problem, I'll just have to keep avoiding most speed bumps, steep driveways and any curbs.....

Ryan,

They are definately NR's... Sounds like you got a good set with the GTR.

I've been crusing around our area hoping to see ya....

Brett

Sorry for he slight deviation in thread - Do any of you guys with TIENs get spring rattle ??? I have TIEN HAs (Height and Damper adjustable) and I used to get a bit of metal on metal spring rattle - That is until this weekend , I cut some custom rubber from conveyer belt material - Does the trick nicely !!

Hi guys,

I just got some second hand TEIN TYPE NR suspension for my car.

Going to be putting it in tomorrow or saturday.

I've done many a google search and forum search, i can't find instructions on how to actually adjust the height, although i know it's possible.

Do you need a special tool for this? Can anybody explain how? I'll post up pictures of the suspension if that helps?

    • Ha ha ha, that's fair mate! We have the crackhead dogs now. Mainly because the missus wants the crazy dogs while she still has the energy and capacity to be able to keep up with them! Ha ha our current two are both Working GSD, there brothers and sisters (from the same litters) are in Police, Corrective Services, and I believe one did end up in defence force too. They're wild and fun, yet right now, both curled up asleep on the lounge room floor while we watch some TV. Mal is very likely the next dog (unless I get my couch potato guardian dog 😛 )   What are your Kitties names? Are you planning some house work, like those high kitty shelves, built in scratching post, and some cat passages from one room to another room?
    • Maine Coone, did look at but to big and fluffy As for performance dogs, we had Mals at work, performance dogs are fun to watch, but, way to much work for this old rooster
    • Yep, it was only an option on the Q50 Hybrid.  Same in Japan as far as I know. And doesn't use a centre diff like the Suby's do, so not the same as the WRX.  But it also isn't a reactive AWD like other Nissan AWD vehicles are, eg. Murano/Xtrail/etc.
    • You should have got a Maine Coone then. Only thing is they're big. But so cool, and just like a dog. Or, just get yourself a high performance dog. That'll teach you for wanting Parkour indoors 😛
    • Are you thinking of Bens R32? I don't remember if his went through the bonnet itself, but it went through the chassis rail. Brad (RISKIN) bought it, and turned it into a track car. It's funny how anti people are of Jim Berry now. I remember when I pulled mine out (during an engine change) and inspected it and found it cracking badly. At that point in time so many people were even on SAU, were so pro Jim Berry, and that was after Bens GTR exploded his quite publically.
