How about, for those NOR, Meet at whitfords then go mitchell fwy > kwinana fwy > south street > ranford? I can't organise it because I'm not sure if I'll be there (it basically depends if I have time to fix my car or not), but if I am, I think the above is a good way for NOR to meet up with the rest.

Was a lot of fun, some parts required a bit of concentration, but enjoyed it heaps. Sorry to anyone who got stuck behind my slow arse on the zig zags, my first time down there, and passenger not keen on hills, so took it easy, tried to let as many people as possible go before me though to try avoid holding people up.

Yeah great cruise guys. Bit long but I still enjoyed it.

However, me, Dora (DXPLORA), Adz in the 80, Mike in the VSpec N1 and another s13 got done on the way back home after the cruise, almost hoon lawed, but as they accused us of exceeding 140 (no proof) which we weren't, we only got tickets for speeding and nothing more. The cops were weaving between traffic in front of me without lights, without indicating, and even me having to brake or they'd hit my car when they switched lanes to block us off on the freeway. They didn't even clock us they were all assumed/estimated speeds according to the cops speedo. Not even sure if they could do that. :)

But it was still a good night, cheers for all those who came, esp those who came from Bunbury and NoR.

Waiting for that letter in the mail... :D

What letter..that you've lost your license? If they gave you speeding tickets on the spot, you won't be getting anything in the mail. Plus they can't book like 4 cars for the exact same speed at the same time. I'd suggest the five of you take the matter to court (as one if possible), and you'll win hands down.

He didn't give me a speeding ticket there man, he said the fine will come in the mail in a few weeks. I actually did want to ask why he couldn't give it to me then. And I found out it was actually over 7 of us he pulled over. He let the XR6 go because he wasn't and I quote by Mr. Officer 'a f@cking rice burner'. Even though he clearly had our club stickers on his car...

It's stuffed in so many different ways. We'll definitly be contesting it as my friend only has one demerit point left. I don't care about the points as it will be my first ticket ever, more about giving them money for nothing. I'd accept a fine for 120 tbh, but no way 140.

Thanks for coming Gazza and Skyman. What car were you in Carl? Where'd you meet us up at? Was hard to keep track of who was joining up at each spot, had a pretty good turnout. Had 50 maps and still ran out. I'll make sure we print about 70 next month.

Guys

Sorry I bailed after the tunnel but I still had a fair drive to get home with the co-driver nodding off.

Nice to meet some of the crew and have a bit of fun.

Not good to hear about the grief on the way home.

Were they still cleaning up the mess at Stakehill Road lights? 4WD had a bit of a bingle, Cops and Towies with half the road blocked.

I had a good fast run when some nice fella in an old commonwhore decided he would run interference (and no doubt keep himself awake the way he was using all the road) for most of the dual cariage from Lake Clifton.

Till next time.

Cheers

    • Not sure the US can import anything other than the C34 Stagea's, but if you can and you need to to tow, DO NOT under any circumstances get an M35 Stagea. If it is just as a family car and your country/state allows it, absolutely and definitely get an M35 (3.5L if possible as it is effectively a 350Z) over a C34.
    • Punch your VIN (nm35-xxxxxx) into Amayama.com You can see everything there quite easily.
    • Thanks for that, I'll check it all out. I can always do the brakes last anyway if its a problem.  The 16's are super cool, if they do fit I'll cruise around with them for a bit.
    • Well, that's kinda the point. The calipers might interfere with the inside of the barrels 16" rims are only about 14" inside the barrels, which is ~350mm, and 334mm rotors only leave about 8mm outboard for the caliper before you get to 350, And.... that;s not gunna be enough. If the rims have a larger ID than that, you might sneak it in. I'd be putting a measuring stick inside the wheel and eyeballing the extra required for the caliper outboard of the rotor before committing to bolting it all on.
    • OK, so again it has been a bit of a break but it was around researching what had been done since I didn't have access to Neil's records and not everything is obvious without pulling stuff apart. Happily the guy who assembled the engine had kept reasonable records, so we now know the final spec is: Bottom end: Standard block and crank Ross 86.5mm forgies, 9:1 compression Spool forged rods Standard main bolts Oil pump Spool billet gears in standard housing Aeroflow extended and baffled sump Head Freshly rebuilt standard head with new 80lb valve springs Mild porting/port match Head oil feed restrictor VCT disabled Tighe 805C reground cams (255 duration, 8.93 lift)  Adjustable cam gears on inlet/exhaust Standard head bolts, gasket not confirmed but assumed MLS External 555cc Nismo injectors Z32 AFM Bosch 023 Intank fuel pump Garret 2871 (factory housings and manifold) Hypertune FFP plenum with standard throttle   Time to book in a trip to Unigroup
