I was considering getting a new O2 sensor installed to help with fuel economy when cruising but will most likely get a PFC installed and tuned soon.

Does a tuned PFC take care of everything, making the O2 sensor redundant or would an O2 sensor still be a good idea? I'm not even sure my existing O2 is buggered (I'm getting crap econmy though, 350kms/50l R34 GTT with stage 1 mods) but I don't wanna waste $200 if I don't have to Cheers

350kms to a tank sounds fine - if the 02 sensor is toast expect around 250kms (absolute max) to a full tank

the pfc will support the 02 sensor and use it for fuel economy control

02 feedback can be turned off, but unless your light cruise afrs are done correctly (they should be for $500 tune) then youll have poo economy

ie it might make 220rwkw but youll use a full tank in 200kms, that to me would indicate 02 feedback is off and cruise afr's have been tuned

or the sensor is toast

yes, if the tuner takes the time to do on road AFR tuning (not all do, ask if your tuner will) and goes to the effort

to tune the light cruise then you can get better than std 02 feedback economy

i was able to get over 550km's to a full tank of highway driving with 02 feedback off

    • thanks for the advice on the box... i was thinking the 6 speed was better for cruising on the highway but on closer inspection and comparison the Rb 5 speed box was not too different...  So the choice is going to be the RB25 box... if I can save up and find one at the right price
    • Thanks Matt, yes that's what i am aiming for. Just going to apply the right voltage and grounds to the dash connector. Hence my search for these pins... any chance you know if these pins are in the same spot as the ones on the S15 Dash connector? as mentioned above on page 8?
    • Yes, unfortunately that's the one. Signal was noisy to begin with; after driving once and looking back at the logs I saw pressure constantly swinging between 0-200psi, or staying at 0 randomly for a few seconds. There's a lot of good sensors that share the same look and feel, so don't presume they're all bad. I bought mine for 20$ off Amazon and I should have read the reviews prior, as it's clear they're junk.  I purchased a lowdollerr motorsports sensor.
