Just changed over from R33 SII standard Japanese battery.

Purchased ACDelco model S55B241 (also sold as CIVIC NS60LMF) $159.00 May get cheaper eg on the Web

430 Cold Crank Amps (Civic rates their <same> battery at 450 CCA - go figure)

Dimensions: L238 x W129 x H227 mm

Weight: 14.7Kg

Most importantly - it fits in the R33 SII rear parcel shelf.

Need to remove the original battery tray as this battery is taller and wider than the original yet it fits in the total battery space well with both standard neg & pos battery leads just reaching and just clears the left rear speaker.

I include this post as I coudn't locate specific manufacturer/model info for R33 battery when searching this forum.

:ermm:

Thanks very much for posting this information up.

But just to adjust your message a little - the ACDelco Number is S55B24L

And yes there is no problems fitting into rear shelf of an R33 GTS-T or GTR. Good Brand quailty Battery.

I installed an Optima Yellow-top into my R32 GTR, MUCH better than many other batteries I have tried, and it's a dry-cell battery as well, so it can be mounted in any angle.

Also, it's smaller than the stock battery, but has spacers to give the base 1.5 inches lift to bring it back to the normal height and size.

650 CCA from the battery, and I have had mine on for hours on end with the stereo pumping, gone to crank it, and it's like I had just shut it off to refuel, cranks without an issue.
