17's are standard on R34s, so 18" is definitely no problems. FYI you will have a tyre placard sticker in your drivers side door-well for next time (if you don't have one Regency will fail you purely on this fact).

im lost aswell lol track is adjusting the hub, i always thought the width of the rim wouldnt metter its only when you change the hub(s13 coilover conversion to a r31)

Can someone help me because im very lost

i think what they are trying to say is that with wider rims, it increases the width from outside to tire to outside of opposite tire. i think?

that sucks dude, but like everyone has said just return the car back to stock form other then the fmic and pod.

tyer placard would be on the car somewhere and you should have showed him, besides, cops have books with all that info init. should have told him to get off his ass and look it up.

DONT try and pass with a PFC computer, not worth the hassle and your car will be fine running the standard ecu.

coilover will deffently NOT pass. dont use aftermarket sus at all as they will be very picking on it and if they dont know much about the brand they will ask you to change to stock.

also, even though your rims are legal. i never take the chance for them to do me for some load rate reason or something stupid like that. stockies are always the best bet or a set of 17's that arent as wide.

marky at ET can do a rental exhaust system for you or spot weld a silencer and remove it after for a small fee if your not to confident on DB limit.

i always like to take no chances with regency though so its up to you, im realy fussy about it.

might see you at regency dude, im defected aswell :) and sorry for the noval haha

didnt they recently update the rim inch so u can have whatever size you want aslong as its not sticking outside the guard.

i swear i read something somewhere. need to go searching

doesnt sound right. people would be going around with 22ichx8 wheels everywhere. ?

anyone know bout the front strut brace ? should be ok.

will the car have to be re tuned etc if I rip the powerFC out. Is it a straight swap ?

i think he means only width wise, still the same 2 inch rule for height

The PFC will hold the tune, it's written to the ROM on the board... just switch them over and then switch them back... not a drama :)

nice.

howmuch for a standard ECU. ? should be too much? would be cool to borrow one somewhere, but if they are cheap enough might as well get one for future dramas/.

    • R34DE as in R34 with an RB25DE? So did you get this? Or you planning to?  I'm not really sure what you're saying.
    • Possibly avoid using a Cometic one unless the deck/head surface are perfectly flat. I did have a look just then and forgiving gaskets such as Tomei or Nitto don't exist for the FJ20, however the Bar-Tek or Kameari ones look good and might do the trick.
    • Because pipe threads for pipe things. M threads for bolt things. Throw some teflon sealant onto it and dust your hands off knowing you did the right thing, instead of going twice around the block to achieve a result using the wrong things. Of course, all of these solutions are ignoring the fact that the minimum thread pitch we're talking about here is 1.25mm, with the 1/4" in NPT or BPS being out around 1.4mm. You will need to know that the boss you're tapping has enough thickness for at least a few threads. That's one of the reasons that 1/8" is commonly used - because the pitch is <1mm. And why would you look to use 1/4" NPT in a BSP country anyway? Ugh.
    • Just throwing around ideas, does it need to be in the compressor cover? Why not the hot side piping?
    • 1/8NPT drill size = 8.7mm. Since the hole got messed up by me, it’s probably around 9mm.    So 1/4” NPT would be next step. A drill size of around 11mm would be preferred there which is not way of my M12 (drill 10.5mm and tap M12 threads)
