Got out on the weekend to blow away the cobwebs since my crash and broken shoulder.

I'm off the pace a bit by 2.5seconds (normally 1m17s), but it felt good to be carving up the slower guys :P

Up front and "in the groove"

Passing a slower rider (and pulling a gap on the guy behind)

Next turn

Did I lose them? :D

Now for the slower guys again

It was funny because my GF was freaking out ... worried I'd crash and injure myself again! :P

She even imposed a rule: Crash and break any bones, and its no sex for a year! ;)

I'll blame her for my 2.5 second loss

:P

Hello guys,

New to this forum, from a motorcycling background had a nasty crash at Oran Park.

Hurt my confidence alot :-(.

So i thought ill see how much fun a r32 GTR would be but nothing comes close to bikes the rush is just so unreal.

Love the R32 GTR great car, alot safer too.

Race bike NC30 VFR400 btw, great on track have a ball all the time.

pretty awesome stuff right there! bet it felt good to be blasting away in a controlled environment again! i take it the shoulder is 100% now? if so good to hear.

:P

It feels 100%. But I'm still out of racing for the rest of the year. Track days only for me :P

Feels fit and good, but wouldn't want to crash in any case

;)

I've raced an RS250 around the track (including Phillip Island) and track day with a VFR400 and they're lots of fun. Not as fast, but far much more fun! :D

Yeah, the rush of lapping the track on a bike is uncomparable to anything else ... maybe even sex ;)

how much did ur heart drop when she told ya that rule lol

I knew she was joking ... to a point. :P She was swell about it. Even encouraged me to get it out of my system. She was there where I crashed at the start of the year and broke my shoulder, and was there all the way through the rehab/physio, so she's been totally swell about it.

:P

BTW, the other guys in the pics above are on 1000ccs. Goes to show that a 600 is better suited to the Mallala circuit. Carries better entry and exit speed.

I take it you were at Mallala on Monday? If so, did you check out Munro's street GTR on the track - he was pulling 1:17s - keeping up with Keir in his Lambo Gallardo :ermm: - unfortunately I was crook so didn't make it out there to watch. :geek::huh::cool:

Nah Andrew, they never have Cars and Bikes out there on the same day, Bike prac was on Saturday before all the dwiptas.......

^^^ since when is that Darren? Last 2 times I took the S15 out for a public day they had 3 different sessions for 3 different vehicle classes. Don't they do that anymore?

Yeah they do, last time i went there was go karts, then the mini clubmans/formula 4's and then normal cars

The S15....... Christ that going back........lol

They never have Cars/open wheelers AND Bikes on one day, because if a car comes off at the kink it will smash the airbags to bits.......

So on a Prac day it goes like this:

Go Karts

Open Wheelers / Clubmans

Tin Tops (CAMS holders)

Tin Tops (Day licence holders)

Unless you have a private prac day which is what i think was on that monday......... hence why the bikes were out on the Saturday during the day and drifters were out at night!!

thats awsome man! let us know when ya out again and we will come have a squizz!!

good stuff!

I'll be out there Sunday watching the racing. Its gunna hurt watching knowing I'm missing out :) No racing for me until next season.

I might be out on the track next on Saturday 19th July from 10.00am, depending upon the weather of course.

:)

    • Forgot to include this but this is the mid section of my steering rack that looks like it has a thread/can be turned with that notch mentioned in the post:
    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
    • Can I suggest you try EBC directly again and link them to as many competitor catalogues as you can to show their listing is incorrect, eg https://dba.com.au/product/front-4000-series-hd-brake-rotor-dba42304/ If you have access to an R33 GTST VIN and your VIN, you could also use a Nissan Parts lookup like Amayama to show them the part number is different between 33 GTST and 34 GTT which may get their attention
    • So i got reply from EBC and they just this site where you can clearly see those 296mm fronts on R34 GTT. I send them photos and "quotes" that 296mm are not for 34 GTT and they are too small. But it will be very hard to return them cuz nobody here knows 100% and they just copy those EBC catalogue :-D https://ebcbrakesdirect.com/automotive/nissan/skyline-r34
