Hey guys, i have got a genuine nissan rear strut brace for R33 gtst, anyway it comes with brackets and brace, and bolts, but the bolts i received from the guy who i bought it off arent the right bolts, now i was wondering if anybody could give me any pointers as to where to get the two of them? or the parts numbers for them, and where to order some from in oz or do i have to get them through nissan from japan?

any help would be much appreciated.

if you really want the nissan bolts, any nissan spare parts place. ours is joined onto the dealership.

yeah wanted to try and get genuine nissan bolts if i could. I work at a fasteners place, i can get any bolt i like, just wanted to get the ones that fit it properly thats all.

Ok so i have found out that there is 3 types of bolt codes for the brackets,

Does anybody have an R33 rear strut brace part numbers for the bolts. or does anybody work for nissan, and could maybe find out for me?

The bolts i have now are part number : (56226 - 31UOO) THESE ARE THE WRONG BOLTS FOR THE BRACKETS I HAVE.

i need bolts to fit

L/H BRACKET (54494-20U00) i dont have the R/H BRACKET part numbers but i think the bolts are exactly the same.

If anybody could help with these part numbers, that would be awesome, i wanna order them.

Well i went to nissan today to check part numbers etc , they dont have any of the part numbers on there computers only the bolt numbers i have. but it turned out when i went to another place to get the bolts, that the bolts i have actually fit the brace, and screw in, there was some paint in the threads that was not letting the bolts screw in properly, so once i forced it in with a socket set a few times it freed up the thread. silly me shoulda done that in the first place. argh well i didnt want to strip the thread on it. im glad its all fixed now. also the bolts are the same part number as maxima ones apparently , so they must have had an option for a rear strut brace for maxima.

    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
    • Yeah dunno why johhny posted that here with no context, just post on FB/insta bro where he put it up?  Laine had an off at T4 during Thurs prac, he's ok, car is less than perfect, they are done for the weekend, he can fill in the rest. Bando also binned it like 100m up the road.
    • I feel there must have been a FB/insta post and the weekend did not start well at all I hope everyone is all okay
