Er34 Fifth Gear Crunch

Ever since I had the ER34, it crunches on fast upshift to fifth. It's now running on Redline MT-90 75W 90 transmission oil but still experiences the same. It's getting very irritating and effects my driving concerntration.

I will not crunch if I takes take time slot into fifth from fourth but that makes me lose time and also drops to revs too much once I shift into fifth.

Are there any solution for this issue?

If it makes you feel any better, i am also having the same problem on fast shifts....usually when she's cold though....

i think it would be synchros dying

but then again, i have never cracked open a gearbox so yeah...

If it's dead syncros, how to fix the problem? Are there any kit replacements out there?

you need to pull the box out and put in new syncos, its not a DYI job. Its pretty much a gearbox rebuild bar changing bearings.
