Hey SAU Members.

I was just about to replace the Michelin Pilot Precedas on the car, when I decided to check my R34 Workshop manual, to see what the original fitment tyres were for the 1998 car.

Would you believe the fitments are as follows:

205/55 ZR 16

205/45 ZR 17

Question? Why would Nissan put in one wheel with a rolling diameter of 633mm (16") and another one with a 616mm (17") rolling diameter.

This means that if you put the 205/45 ZR 17's on the car, that your speedo would be reading OVER the actual speed. You'd never get booked maybe. LOL (as if)

I looked up the diamater for a 225/45 ZR 17 tyres, and that averages 635mm.

I guess they must have meant the 225's not the 205's for a 17" rim.

This means that this may be a mistake in Nissans Workshop Manual? (_)o(_)

Regards

Jim (TR34GT)
