People,

The guys over on secretdrift forums have organised a social meetup/bbq predominantly for Cefiro/Laurel owners, but all JDM 4doors are welcome to attend. 2door vehicles will be allowed, but you will have to make an effort to fit in by stickytaping and extra 2 cardboard doors on your car. Here are some details from the sd forum

What: Cefiro Cruise

Why: To band together as one, and make a stand against two door fly boys.

When: 3rd August.

Who: Heaps of cefiro owners

Where: Its a secret

What to bring: A 4 door car. Although some 2 doors are welcome, no hachis - they are banned. (Refer to my convo with moose in random spam)

Other information:

We will be stopping at a nice spot to have a BBQ and to socialize.

This isn't a wank cruise. So please no skids, no wank and no subs.

The last thing we want is bad attention from the police

Soft drink will be available and HARD drink for the badasses. (AKA coke and pepsi)

Gold Coin donation for a snag-a-roonie and another gold coin for a drank.

- Heretic

date is set for the 3rd of august which is the day after the next raceline event.. meeting time will be 10.30am at the kinda southern inland area of goldie.. (trying to give any ppls from brissy a chance to get down/ill prolly be hung over) Driving time will be just over 1 hour each way but from what i have been told, is a very very nice drive.. Also, im gonna buy a sh!tload of snags and some cans of drinks as well if anyone is keen.. maybe a gold coin donation each to cover costs??

So, if you wish to attend please state so in this topic and indicate if you will be bringing mates so we can have a guesstimate and the number of sausages/drinks to bring.

People who express their interest will be given further instructions via PM

If there are any further instructions, please ask in this topic so that I don't get the same question 10times via PM

Thanks, Luke

LOL ROAD TRIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =P

hey if I can drive from Melb to Brissy in my ceffy in a day n 3 hours, then so can you!

I've already said I'll rock up on SD, but I'll just reconfirm here.

Should be epic... QLD is full of ceffies n laurels n aristos n chasers n mark II's from the looks of it. and some R31's... but they don't count :P

Come on people, this is going to be history in the making!!

Hmm. Mine will be most probably in the mechanics getting stuff fixed for the road worthy...

I'll just bring the Jetta. Its still a 4 door

an hour from goldy? I thought it was IN goldy (or one of its surrounding burbs)?

Queensland is a wee bit bigger than little Victoria Funky.

Seems the roadworthy didnt pick on too much. So I should be right to at least rock up say hi. Its going to need a run anyway!

i think we're gonna have to organise a brissy meet so us guys can cruise down together in style.

Already organised, anyone from brisbane area who wants to meet up and cruise down to the gold coast meeting point together please PM me for details

    • Was going to say the car pulls up nicely everywhere, especially going into that last long right hander before the main straight. Looks like a lot of fun.
    • Hey Dave, welcome aboard! Good to see another soon-to-be Stagea owner here. The wagons are awesome — plenty of space, still got that Skyline DNA, and loads of potential if you’re into mods. Definitely post up pics when you get it, everyone here loves seeing new builds. What model/year are you looking at?
    • See if you can thermal epoxy a heatsink or two onto it?
    • The other problem was one of those "oh shit we are going to die moments". Basically the high spec Q50s have a full electric steering rack, and the povo ones had a regular hydraulic rack with an electric pump.  So couple of laps into session 5 as I came into turn 2 (big run off now, happily), the dash turned into a christmas tree and the steering became super heavy and I went well off. I assumed it was a tyre failure so limped to the pits, but everything was OK. But....the master warning light was still on so I checked the DTCs and saw – C13E6 “Heat Protection”. Yes, that bloody steering rack computer sitting where the oil cooler should be has its own sensors and error logic, and decided I was using the steering wheel too much. I really appreciated the helpful information in the manual (my bold) POSSIBLE CAUSE • Continuing the overloading steering (Sports driving in the circuit etc,) “DATA MONITOR” >> “C/M TEMPERATURE”. The rise of steering force motor internal temperature caused the protection function to operate. This is not a system malfunction. INSPECTION END So, basically the electric motor in the steering rack got to 150c, and it decided to shut down without warning for my safety. Didn't feel safe. Short term I'll see if I can duct some air to that motor (the engine bay is sealed pretty tight). Long term, depending on how often this happens, I'll look into swapping the povo spec electric/hydraulic rack in. While the rack should be fine the power supply to the pump will be a pain and might be best to deal with it when I add a PDM.
    • And finally, 2 problems I really need to sort.  Firstly as Matt said the auto trans is not happy as it gets hot - I couldn't log the temps but the gauge showed 90o. On the first day I took it out back in Feb, because the coolant was getting hot I never got to any auto trans issues; but on this day by late session 3 and then really clearly in 4 and 5 as it got hotter it just would not shift up. You can hear the issue really clearly at 12:55 and 16:20 on the vid. So the good news is, literally this week Ecutek finally released tuning for the jatco 7 speed. I'll have a chat to Racebox and see what they can do electrically to keep it cooler and to get the gears, if anything. That will likely take some R&D and can only really happen on track as it never gets even warm with road use. I've also picked up some eye wateringly expensive Redline D6 ATF to try, it had the highest viscosity I could find at 100o so we will see if that helps (just waiting for some oil pan gaskets so I can change it properly). If neither of those work I need to remove the coolant/trans interwarmer and the radiator cooler and go to an external cooler....somewhere.....(goodbye washer reservoir?), and if that fails give up on this mad idea and wait for Nissan to release the manual 400R
