So I got done doing 90 in a 60 zone at 1am this morning, ive bit the bullet and I was doing the wrong thing so theres no way i can try and fight it.

My license is being suspended for 3 months, but I'll still have some points left on it.

I'm also on my Red Ps on my motorbike, and was wondering if I'll still be able to ride my bike when i'm suspended from driving a car. Thanks!

I was in the same situation, in Melbourne though. In VIC, the two licenses are linked, and i believe it's the same in nsw... so no car = no bike :P

Though, for the most accurate answer, give RTA a call

Yep, bike licence gone as well, it's touch, but them's the way the cookies are baked....

If it was P-plater bike licence, and open car licence, the only thing not linked is the BAC of the licences, so you can have 0.49 BAC on your car licence, but you cant drink at all if you plan to ride.

Sorry to hear man, but the bus and train look like safest ways at the moment, but saing on fuel means modifications when the car is back :ermm:

if you were doing smack bang right on 90km/h you should get reduced to the next level down... thats what i was told by my traffic lawyer at the time i was done doing 94 in a 60.... i couldnt get off but you should because if i remeber correctly the laser guns are meant to allow 3% error margin..... this was same time last year i got caught so it might be differnt now, ask a specialist in the field

if you had your full bike licence and are still on your P's (car) and you loose your car P licence for losing too many points then you can still ride your bike cos you still have 12 points on your bike

Nah i was doing a bit faster than 90, so no chance of bumping it down.

Its auto licence suspension for 3 months for anyone regardless of licence class and number of points left if you get done going 30+ks over.. Ive still got points on my licence, just lost it due to the auto suspension.

Another question: I was due to get my full car licence in november and bike licence in december, will that be pushed back 3 months?

thanks!

hi im in nsw and lost 9 points on my car licences (green P's 7 points) and had it suspended for 3 months i also had my full licence on my bike 12 points so that left me with 3 points and i was aloud to still ride my bike with the left ova 3 points you can ring the nsw rta and they will comfirm and you can also look at MYrta.com and it will tell you "only your car licnece will be suspended for 3 months

yeah but we're not talking about just points... the original post refered to doing over 90 in a 60 zone, thats an auto suspension from all vehicles no questions asked

    • I know that smallbox is not great but as i said it will be for a limited time and iam not going to get crazy. But thanks...i just want to know if i can use that clutch and not have "problems"
    • No no. The Audi boost controller was made from a Norgren (or equivalent) 1/4" pneumatics pressure regulator, a similar (looking) relief valve (to create the "gated" function to keep the boost off the actuator until wanted) and a check valve plumbed in parallel with those two, to relieve the boost back out of the wastegate line after the boost event was over. It was the inclusion of that check valve, used sort of "backwards" as a relief valve, that was the stroke of genius that made the rest of it work nice. The only reason I stoped using it was because it was like any other manual/pneumatic boost controller - it's settings changed from season to season. The Profec is much more consistent winter to summer.
    • A couple of months of gentle driving will be fine. There is a risk that you will kill it. A heavy workout will probably kill 3rd gear. Continued use will wreck the input shaft bearing.
    • That's because R34 RB25DET is a pull clutch gearbox. I have that clutch, behind 25Neo, in front of R33 gearbox. I have brand new R34 turbo gearbox, in a box (cardboard) in the shed right now, and it will be getting used with the same engine and clutch, because I also have, in a much smaller box next to it, the front plate to convert the new box to push clutch.
    • Are you planning to ever come on boost with the RB25DET? The torque of the motor alone will break the little box. It's not a matter of if, it's when.
