i have plans for it to make around the 330AWKW...

so far i have gotten myself some wiesco forgies 87mm....

will i need rods for this power figure???

i have dash -7 turbos and fuel system and management

i was thinking these parts

good pump

oil return from back of head

fresh head (reconditioned) stock cams with cam gears

Rods - stock is fine

Just a set of pistons... get the crank checked also. If its far gone just get a R33 GTR crank and not worry about collars etc.

You'll only tell that once you get it looked at.

Otherwise good list of parts.

Dont really need oil return from the back of the head if the restrictors are done right, i dont have a drain :worship:

sweet as i was thinking a tomei sump baffle , what do u recon?

also i read somewhere on the forum that its better to use Nissan piston rings in the Rb blocks due to the beading in process... should i use these or use the ones hat come with the wiescos???

also head studs???

main studs???

Dont really need it IMO. Some will say you do, ive seen club day circuit GTR's with your power run for a few years without.

So unless your out there ALL the time, 10 times a year or so, probably not needed. Certainly not for a streeter.

Not 100% on the rings, i couldnt imagine a RB block being different in terms of getting the ring setting.

ok, i have changed my ways abit, i have sold off the dash 7's and the managment today, also my rb30/26 pistons and rods, i have also sold my gt80 and now have a to4z

im going to use the parts off my other car onto this....

sofar i have

hks 272 10.2mm lift cams

hks springs to suit

bronze valve guides

1mm oversized ferrera valves

hypertune plenum

85mm tb

jun pump

custom sump

bare virgin block

virgin r33 crank

motec m8

obviously this will make a shitload more power than the quoted 330awkw, ive had a look at some of the dyno figures in the fi section, ive been to afew shops today and asked about a piston and rod combo for a RELIABLE 450awkw... everyone has different outlooks on different brands, one guy says this, the other says that....

i have come up with a combo which ive been told that will work very well, je pistons or mahle pistons and a set of manley turbo tuff rods???

will this be adequate for a reliable 450kw, or is it overkill???

any more combos yous know of with firsh hand experience???

cheers

  • 4 weeks later...

i sold the gtr and am now concentrating on my rb s15, a build should cost u about 7000 to 9000 depending on where u go, the build i have atm is costing about 16,000 bvut is full house everything, in my 26, i also have a 30 which i will bolt my big turbo on and put a auto in later, the 26 will have a to4z and a 25 box, want to run consistent 9 second passes with this setup, the 30 even quicker

    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
