LOL +1 with Ruby..

I dont own a skyline...but if i was going to buy one...i'd say i'd have to get a 33 lol its all Jacks fault haha

Edited by fullyhyperlite

I'm biased because I've never driven a skyline aside from my own r32 gtr.. and even then I bought it after having only been a passenger in it...

I love the looks of the 34's front... and some 33's look extremely nice, esp the gts-25's (or whatever the 2.5lt ver is called) with the rounded rear wing... thats a booty worthy of hittin'.... but I got the gtr cause it was The Legend, and it also was a balance in all aspects, of what I found important.... looks, handling, power, price, safety, comfort...other people have that list in different orders....

I think the stock skylines look a hell of a lot nicer than a lot of the cars on our roads, but some modified skylines look like the aftermath of letting a crackhead into a body workshop... not to mention theres a certain point where a car remains practical and a vast other that becomes unfeasible (ie you run out of money cause your r32 is worth $200k). Ultimately the coolest thing about most nissan sedans and wagons, is that theyre very very tweakable for a reasonable price.. and the layout and design of the cars is such that the layout makes sense, it doesnt take vast amounts of time to do a simple job... and to compare against many other cars, proportionately speaking the performance from such cars are comparable to exotics and classics.

If you got any of the skylines, or stags, or 180's/200's then you've got a massive amount of information and aftermarket suppliers to choose from. If you have a Nissan exa I'll lol at you but thats worthy of another post. Just dont get offended, everyone has a different opinion on what does and doesnt look cool. Theres nothin' written in slate about what is or isnt cool.... just ignore and remember, you got your car to suit you, and not some other wannabe pimp noob out there...

;D

Went for a drive in this car tonight, that little 8" (or 10") sub makes a hell of a lot of noise.

Kahli, coilovers, THIS WEEKEND! Me n mike will figure it out for you, I can bring my jack and stands or do it at mine. Those squeaks are shocking.

Get some proper tires on it also

And to be honest, I love the R32's, but its more sleeper, it doesn't stand out nearly as much as your R33 did at school. Bit rough but fix these few small things and it'll be mint. DO NOT paint, cut, glue, colour, or try to DIY customize anything. Looks best stock.

I'm facing the dilemma of choosing between a 1997 GTS-T R33 or a 1993 GTS-T R32. The 32 has done 20,000 km's more then the 33 and is $2.5k cheaper...in the asking prices. I like the R32 but the 33 is a much newer car and I suppose will have less issues. Not sure about performance wise (fuel consumption, lag, off the line, top end, grip/slip, etc), but I know the 33 has more power, but is heavier, and the 32 has less power, but is lighter.

I dunno what to do...

thats a hot 32 :P

not sure if you was talkin bout me in one of your first posts but i am keeping my hks mushroom pod coz im getting my 32 back ;) yipeee

although they are shit filtration they do give a wild induction sound and mad flutterzz haha i memba when putting my boost controller in and had it accidently set on 15 psi it was farrkn loudest i have ever herd lol

have fun :P

Fuel consumption is pretty much the same between the RB20 and RB25's

RB20's to me seem to have more lag then a RB25

RB25's are very good with torque in the lower rpm's

Whatever you buy, make sure it has good rims :)

Come on Damo, don't hold a grudge. I'm not a fan of the style of rims you had...be happy you didn't buy them, but even if you did, it's your car so I'll stfu now.

Kahli, you're making my chocie very difficult! I love being in your car haha.

This weekend: coilovers!

all well and good to compare specifications...but it all comes down the facts. Track/hills prove all.

In each revision of gtr there has been an increase in performance, for the 33 it was a tuned attessa, for the 34's it was reduced weight, tuned attessa and a 6 speed gbox. so we can agree that all subsequent models as released are an upgrade, however they do look and handle different depending on their design and can have parts from other skylines put into them if you have enough time/money..

everything is much of a muchness. the entire skyline range from 89 to present share a same design concept which is refined thru each and every release. That doesnt stop someone going nuts on a 32 and making it perform better than a 33 or 34, it comes down to about money and whether or not you really dont have a life outside of tuning cars...

you can't argue against someones opinions because in that case, truth is in the eye of the beholder (or in this case, forum poster)

oh and facts should be "facts"

lol don't take SAU seriously. im joking, and buying new rims. Origin DNA02

LOL sr20... :(

HAHA agreed!!!! Worse then the mighty FJ :P

32's and 33's are both nice cars, depends on what ya want..Still say best skyline is a 32 with the 33 box and motor as has been said!!

gotta remember the r33 areodynamics was improved to! the front air splitter is one change and there is a reason why the guards are so flared out, because it channels air to the big rear spoiler! areodynamics = more down forces which means more grip and stability!

    • When you pulled it off, there is no signs of blown head gasket? Is it possible you have some other issues going on? Possible cracked blocked? Or do you think it's straight up lifting the head? Did you check what the head was torqued to before pulling it down (To see if possibly they're stretching, or starting to break threads out etc)?
    • Seems like a decent result for a modded JZX110. They are bulky in comparison to the 100 and 90 models (which I'd prefer myself) but they are getting very few and far between here in JP these days. Thanks for the detailed review and the import process into the UK. I also have a car which I'm hoping to export from Japan at some stage so it's good to know if someone from the UK was interested in it. By the way the corrosion underneath is par for the course for cars which were located in/near the mountains or along the Japan sea coastline. They get huge amounts of snow every winter and the sodium chloride is used on the roads. Many cars have some kind of rubber like treatment underneath but they tend to limit it to the wheel arches underbody and fuel tank. Suspension arms and sub-frames will have similar corrosion to your JZX110 which is a common sight. See it all the time and car dealers here generally don't even mention it unless asked.
    • If the sound goes away when you clutch in, the 1.5/2 way diffs are just shit, and you are a normal person. The diff is likely "fine" but driving at anything under 30kmh is a violent horrible experience. It would be exaggerated with solid diff bushings and subframe bushings if you have those.
