Formal challenge as posted in the Supra forums

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Sk...ha-t233629.html

Of all the events we can challenge the Supras to this has to be the one we have a good chance of winning. The GTS-T's have a great advantage around the track due to their light weight.

We need a good show of Skylines, have a bit of Skyline pride, save up, come out and whip some Supra butt. You don't need to be the best to win a trophy either.

I'll be there if my car is ready, its still in pieces after Wakefield but I hope to have it up and going again within a month... (hopefully) ;)

I'll be there to race, but I don't think I will be super quick. The GT-R's have a massive advantage on an uphill launch, and an uphill run suits the more powerful cars. And I will be running street tyres :(

reece as alwas is quitely modest, lol, i should be entering this one, but ill be in the FSAE open wheeler, wooo, ill have my ride there to add to the line tho,

I know some of those Supra boys may have more muscle then PHD's :-), however I'm not sure we can convince them skylines came out in open wheeler configuration.

Its okay, you can double enter  c'mon, support the Lines

interesting yet i still keep saying the skylines and supras are super different cars. the only thing you could compare is a gtst against one or a rwd only gtr. yet would still love to see it. take it easy, stuart (if my new engine is in can i enter)

(if my new engine is in can i enter)

This event is opened to everyone and is being run by SDMA, all types of cars are welcome but have to meet scrutineering guidelines i.e. safe, fire extinguisher (no plastic brackets), safe rubber/wheels (fit within guard, no wheel wobble). Club is very supportive, you can get your CAMS L2S there on the day and a daily club membership is $10 (you can do this three times and if you want to join after that your 3x$10 can be deducted from your membership).

If anyone has any questions, please let me know and I will do what I can to help out. If I don't know the answer, I'll find out for you.

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.
    • My Nismo 1.5 churps a bit on reverse turns when cold, but besides that feels like a stock diff.
    • Yes, but, I paid cash and I'm pretty sure the receipt was in the bin 10 minutes after I got home Note to self, keep all receipts
    • Bunnings would have just handed you your money back on that one!
    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
