T04e On RB20DET

Holy mother of jebus that's a big exhaust housing!!! The guy at Garrett said my turbo was a T04E but my exhaust housing isn't nearly as big as that and it has an internal wastegate. Maybe I just have a T04E front or something (which looks very similar to yours).

R31 GTS-R's came with a t04e from the factory...

not with THAT bigger of an exhaust housing though lol!

that's massive.

On the GTS-R they came onto good boost around 5000rpm maybe a 200 or more... but they also came with Nismo/factory extractors.

So i'd expect something mcuh the same or a bit higher.

And hence, it'll be laggy as, which made them (gts-r's) slow as snails on the street, but they decimate a racetrack with this setup on the RB20 (red-top) as you gotta keep it way up in the revs.

This turbo setup has been transferred to the RB25 i have in my car now and it comes on 13psi around the 4200rpm mark. Makes a lil boost around the 3500.

It pulls nicely on the RB25, just gotta wait for a second. but the RB25 give a much larger rev range for the turb (almost 1000rpm worth)

But depends what your using the car for i guess

with the size of the exhaust housing, that thing would be laggy on a VL or even a Supra, so i would not like to imagine what it's gonna be like on an RB20DET.

another way is replace smaller diameter of exhaust side..say 0.53 ?

i have had two T04 turbos on Rb20's over the years and they had a 0.63 and 0.65 exhaust housings, max boost was from 4500 to 4700 rpm
