You can do it. but the reason is why? just for the sound? Putting an external gate on a pair or N1's are not needed (can achieve 400kw in some cases) but they are only need if you are using high power low mounts. Just for arguments sake a pair of 2860's running 25psi obviously you dont need to go external gate but it will help control boost alot better. External gates are usually used for big single turbos or twins making over 500, 600hp + kinda thing..In your case unless you are going for huge horse power you don't need an external gate. If the gate is big enough say 50mm upwards you might get away with 1 but generally if you use 2 turbos you use 2 wastages and you can mount them anywhere you like if you have enough $$$.

There is no room too fit two external wastegates with a low mount TT setup.

I mean, you probably could if you fabricated absolutely everything from new manifolds, intake, oil/water, dumps etc etc etc.

Maybe fit one big gate...

Silly idea and expense end of the day just for a sound. Not to mention you'd never get away with it here in Vic... i didn't 4 years ago, times are a lot tougher.

External gate = single or highmount twins only

You can make over 450rwkw from internal gates, so no drama there

Ye but internal gate screamers sound nothing like a true external gate, not even close... and often have issue with sealing at idle so you get exhaust leaks and so on

A wet fart best describes internal gate screamers, and no-one likes having one of those

pure and simple we have given you the facts of why an why not, so its up to you to make the decision on what you want to do...just know if you get caught with a screamer you'll get f*cked over..

:D nawww i really wanted one lol with the nismo Exhaust that i installed the aggressiveness of my car is gone just another question i have a hks SSQ and a HKS that makes a standard air noise and the SSQ shits me to hell if i put stock GTR bov's on will the Car make a nice noise cuz i wouldn't mind hearing a little dose does anyone know how to make a GTR dose other than re locate the AFM into the cooler piping or after market computer that disables the AFM?

Like if i blocked both my BOV's off or change my cooler i duno just asking

Lancers are a very different beast being an inline 4 , they are a lot easier to package an external gate into than a twin parallel turbo inline 6 . Actually there are some really good twin scroll twin integral gate turbos available for 4G63's - but thats another story .

IMO you would go backwards with one wastegate controlling two turbos because you lose the pulse seperation effect of two turbos on their own individual exhaust manifolds . Once you link them together you may as well have a 6 into 1 manifold and a single scroll single turbo .

You call but I would have effective twins on an RB26 and call it a day . Sounds can be emotive but I'll take function over flamboyance every time .

A .

i heard about 6-7 years back you could buy a device that you attach to your gearbox so when you change gear it makes the BOV sound for non turbo cars, maybe by now they the same thing for gates, then you wouldnt have to spend heaps of coin, and maybe lose power????

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
