Rich Or Lean?

ok guys im sure this is a bit of a newbie question, but if your car is tuned overly rich, or very lean wat exactly happens, i think i understand the concept but i jus want to know the effects, "please dont say LEAN means BANG" i understand that but wondering how a vehicle preforms under these circumstances.

i.e. Rich, if car is tuned rich on boost as it comes on it will over fuel and flood the motor causing it to loose power and lots of black smoke?

Lean, if the car is tuned lean on boost, when it comes on it will go great but beggin to ping, and then more than likely melt pistons.

please let me know if this is correct. cheers

Well under lean, its that simple... bang.

It performs "ok" you could say, but it would be detonating (depends how lean of course)... and detonation kills pistons/rings etc.

Rich, you'll most likely be killing plugs which then will give you missfiring, destroyed cat, poor fuel economy and a 'lazy' car for response
