and if there not on here looking?? the gonna just pull over more cars anyways! so its loss loss!!! cop it sweat.. as its been said... u modify ur car expect to get defected! its the risk u take!!

seriously think about how many people are in adelaide that have imports or other modified cars they dont come on here read all the crap and then take down plates then go on a hunt for you they do actually have a job to do and they wouldnt remember all of our plates and when they are driving around say oh i remember that plate that car has this and that on it

i dont really care if my plates are shown

It happened to some dude on ns who put a twin turbo vg30 in his s13 and there were photos of it with numberplates on ns and he got a letter in the post saying that his rego was suspended unless he took the car for an inspection at regency.

It's very true about that defect letters in the mail.

Ages ago I told a new guy on here to cover his numberplate in his pics he posted up - I got flamed for it. Go figure.

Meh I've had my custom plates for 6 months now, never had >any< hassles from the police. I got pulled over once for bretho/licence check when I had my standard SA plates but police have been good to me. Maybe they have a computer system and it says 'Dohmar is a legend' and they just say 'cool' and continue on their way...

Even cruising in a loud gear with my sub up a bit last nite, cops let me go past. They ignored me when I went past a random drug test in my suburb on fri too so who knows...

that said, my car is mostly stock so I dont attract attention, and I dont rev it hard like a twit... since I got jack to install my sub last nite, I've only been on a couple rides so we'll see how much a sub attracts them. And whether theyre prejudiced against any certain genre of music, be it rap (weed smokers), dance (eccy and acid trippers), heavy metal (alcoholics) or opera (winos).... we shall see!

He was a pom if that helps.....

Probs not but yeah, I'm pretty sure the cop was from Gawler, ill find out more info.

i know that cop, he defected my old car and was a prick about it, most guys in gawler know him as a wanker,

always gives local boys a hard time for doing nothing in particular wrong (not car related btw)

    • List all of your mods. It sounds like an aftermarket ECU hitting rev limiter. Like a valet mode, or a cold rpm limiter?
    • @Kapr Haha yeah thats the one. I missed that you had a built up engine, I wouldn't want to run it on there either then. It was good in my situation just to replace the original turbo on a stock engine. @MBS206Yep definitely not a replacement for anything name brand
    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...

    • It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about. Reliability of everything in a 34 drops MASSIVELY above the 300kw mark. Keeping everything going great at beyond that value will cost ten times the $. Clutches become shit, gearboxes (and engines/bottom ends) become consumable, traction becomes crap. The good news is looking legalish/actually being legal is slighly under the 300kw mark. I would make the assumption you want to ditch the stock plenum too and want to go a front facing unit of some description due to the cross flow. Do the bends on a return flow hurt? Not really. A couple of bends do make a difference but not nearly as much in a forced induction situation. Add 1psi of boost to overcome it. Nobody has ever gone and done a track session monitoring IAT then done a different session on a different intercooler and monitored IAT to see the difference here. All of the benefits here are likely in the "My engine is a forged consumable that I drive once a year because it needs a rebuild every year which takes 9 months of the year to complete" territory. It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about with this car.
