Hi all , have been reading through Paul33's indepth PFC/Datalogit thred and found a link to this Sewell Serial/USB converter cable that comes with Datalogit kits if you opt to use the USB interface .

http://sewelldirect.com/usbtoserial.asp

I know that not just any serial/usb cable works between the datalogit box and a laptop/PC's USB port so this ones obviously the one to get if you want no hassles .

Does anyone know if these Sewell 1301 adapter cables are sold in Australia or are they only available from Datalogit or in the US ?

Cheers A .

http://www.rocketindustries.com.au/descrip...p?partno=IM3733

I got mine with my lm1 kit from rocket, the one dataloggit sent was some other POS,

I also got myself a std com cable to have a little extra cord to play with!

The one in that link from Rocket looks exactly like the Sewell one , I think the IM3733 is an Innovate part number not a Sewell one . From the Innovate group buy the price is the same as Datalogit wants , $44 AUD .

Cheers A .

    • Yeah I made that post way too early, sorry I must have assumed it was bad because it's a 20+ year old thrashed shitbox lol. It was just a loose exhaust bolt.
    • Like others have said, drop the power to give your drivetrain a % of reliability until you can up the drivetrain reliability  It isn't rocket science, build power to the weakest link with a % of safety Whilst upping the the reliability of the drive train is costly, there's no point in having the engine make big power if it keeps eating the drivetrain....ask me how I know, I had the tow truck on speed dial for a few years, and I spent huge amounts of money fixing issues and breakages that really would have been cheaper in the long run if I did it right the first time Me, I like a nice sized fudge factor, that keeps me off the tow truck
    • I don't understand what the issue is with, turn the boost down and start saving $$.  As soon as you can afford the supporting mods, turn the boost back up.  If the car is running fine, enjoy it. Turning the boost down isn't going to kill you.
