Hi guys, i'm a newbie here.

i got 32gtr and have a little thing concern.

when i am revving it in the neutral position: the rpm sort of drop a little and then goes up normally. after engine reaches normal operating temperature it still does the same, but just drop less.

what is the likely culprit for this problem? Any input much appreciated :thumbsup:

cheers.

02 sensors, clean afm, change spark plugs to platnium or iridiums,change oil, depending what rpm you idle at you might have to raise it alittle..... i had same prob in rb25det, eventually it will conk out or nearly conk out.....

i did all of this and the prob went away, but for me i did the 02 sensor last and that completed the solution..... hope this helps, im pretty sure it will

its on the dump pipes that come of the turbo's, you have a gtrso you have 2 dumps with 2 02 sensors

anyway you should change these for better fuel economy, mine was $70 and in a month i have saved about $50 in fuel, i filled up today with $51 where as i'd usually fill up with $70-75 for the same distance...... and the fuel prices have been fairly constant at $1.50-$1.60 for 98 octane fuel.... because there a bitch to take off i just changed the whole dump pipe for a larger one instead of trying to unbolt the old rusty one.

and if you want the idle probs to go away this will help to get rid of it,,,, as i said before, it did the trick in my car, similar engine

interesting....

i also have this problem, my car idles at about 1300rpm but after reving it the revs drop slightly then go back up. I thought it might have been the AAC vavle???

i just had 1 O2 sensor replaced as my exhaust wheel smashed it to pieces lol, shouldve got my mechanic to replace the other 1.

thanks for the input guys. will try to look into it.

btw does a 32gtr have more O2 sensor after the cat converter?

funny thing again is now, when i rev, instead of slightly dropping it slightly jumps up... then goes up as normal.

as for the idle, it actually idle very well. very stable.

problem is only when i rev it ... :ermm:

actually i did accelerate really slowly. so slowly indeed .. and i paid attention at the needle very closely :D

and it doesn't go down anymore .. not even a slight bit .. instead .. it jumps up .. with the same distance as when it used to drop down (around 50 rpm).

Ok it's the detail :) .......

(1) previous cold idle: 1,200 rpm.

(2) starting around two weeks ago, rpm drops when i rev (by 100 rpm from 1,200 to 1,100) then goes up as normal.

(3) 6 Oct: i initially just thought it could be clogged injectors :) . so i just add fuel injector cleaner liquid into fuel tank, the whole bottle into a full fuel tank. that's all i could do as the first step since i was worried :blink:

(4) have used up the almost fuel tank until this Sunday.

(5) 12 Oct: rpm didn't drop when i rev (i guarantee not even a bit..), instead it jumps up (by 100 rpm as well).

the difference also ... idle when cold became 1,100 (whereas previously cold idle was 1,200)

(6) so, revving when cold:

before: 1,200 -> 1,100

now : 1,100 -> 1,200

seems like there is a gap there between 1,100 and 1,200 that rpm just skips.

what do you think :ermm: ?

clean throttle body, change sparks, clean afm, check that there are no leaks in the engine pipes and 02 sensors..... has to be these..... its just general maintenance issues....

same solution for gtst

    • Hi...so a "development" here aswell The swap is "done" and car went "test drive" BUT it seems the clutch(maybe gearbox?) is a little bit sad? I bought this clutch kit https://justjap.com/products/xtreme-heavy-duty-organic-clutch-flywheel-kit-nissan-skyline-r31-r32-r33-push-type "Problem" is that the first gear is hard to put into and it seems that the clutch is not disengaged. It was not the problem with the old clutch...(or like sometime the first gear would not get as easy specialy when the fluid was cold) So? Can it be like...bad "install" or is the clutch wrong ((it should not have been) i done research to get the right one) Or is this "normal" with new clutch and needs to be break in?
    • @Duncan I can try  and thanks i did not thought about VIN and part numbers for 33/34. @GTSBoy yeah it looks like iam gonna do that
    • Forgot to include this but this is the mid section of my steering rack that looks like it has a thread/can be turned with that notch mentioned in the post:
    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
