was a cool day today, some bloody tuff muscle cars! wat happened to a certain r34, not making it past round 1 in the go to whoa????

Least she was out there having a go my friend....... ;)

very true.

short term loss for long-term gain ( i hope)

how did the 2nd cruise the track go yesterday and today?

they stopped the first round early yesterday, beacause i few of the v8 boys couldnt follow the rules

doing burnouts on the new surface, beyond the burnout lines etc,

i noticed cara lining up in the burnout line, but didnt make it coz they stopped it, gotta be devo!

Least she was out there having a go my friend.......

lol here we go, this was my first trip up to gazza nats and after seeing how piss poor everyone was at it i will be entering next year for sure. 90% of the cars are over sized v8 boats with no brakes, and people were making simple mistakes and throwing it away in the breaking :s

with his current form......................not that hard lol

but in all honesty go to whoa is there for the v8 boys to put on a show, anyone with half a idea of how to launch a car and hit the break pedal in a import would win my miles.

i was never having a dig at the girl in the r34, simply asking what was goin on cause they seemed to take it real easy?(mechanical sympathy??) then i get the usual smart ass responce......"atleast he/she was out there"

do you have any connection with Brentons Mechanical Workshop?

my best mate Adam is the apprentice there and was mentioning a car along these lines

yeah mate thats the 1, blown motor supercharged made 230rwkws untuned(wasnt tuned properley), this motor with the supercharger only made 180 rwkws(stock motor), lol, did any1 see it out their, were is was parked, my chaser was right next to it, my new toy, lol

there was 2 practice runs to begin with. i only got one run for practice as my first run i couldnt do because i didnt have long sleeves on so i had to sort that out. so i won my first round, but unfortunatly lost my second run.

i didnt push the car hard to begin with cause ive had issues with detonation and the car was getting pretty hot at the time aswell.

came out with 4th in the Iron Maiden class so im happy with that. but overall the car went well . i was hoping to do the dash for cash on the sunday but unfortuntly had to go work at the Gawler Races in the morning

i will defintly be doing both days next year. stuff work hahaha

it was good to see a few Southern HiTech Dyno Tune cars out there aswell

here are some pics: (my favourites that i took over both days)

ahhh right, i rocked up a little before mid day and just caught the start of round 1 so didnt see any practice. whats the go with the dash for cash??? lol at the cruise tho, everyone getting carried away on the main straight and the organisers ending it early :(

everyone was told to be good and there is always a few idiots out there that have to go ruin it for everyone else.

in what do u mean with whats the go with the dash for cash? its basiclly an obstacle course and the one who does it in the quickest time wins :/ easy lol

i know a couple of guys had their keys taken off them on the saturday and they couldnt get to their cars at all till sunday night.

    • Just trying to get my head around this. At 5psi of boost, you turn on your wmi pump, and then you're using a 3000cc injector, to allow flow upto the actual engine, where you have your 6x200cc injectors and a 500cc injector. If the above is correct, what advantage are you obtaining by having the 3000cc injector blocking flow, is this just incase a line breaks between that injector and the motor you can stop flow immediately? Or are the 6x200cc and 500cc less injectors and just spray nozzle?
    • Welcome! New member myself, but I had an R33 back in 2002. Best advice I could give, based on my experience: if you're running the factory turbo, be very conservative with boost. I made the mistake of just fiddling around with the boost controller and cranking the boost for fun, and the end result was my intake pipes popping off frequently from the constant deluge of oil that was being blown into the recirc by the stressed-out turbo, which itself was siphoning oil from the engine and farting it out both sides of its centre bearing (or something to that effect). If I could do it all again, I would have gotten a new turbo and had a tune dialled in professionally and then just left it alone! Funny you mention the metal shavings in the gearbox, as I had the same thing - the probe plug (magnetic drain plug, essentially) would come out caked with shavings. At least it was doing its job. Not sure if that's just sacrificial wear and part of the deal, or if my gearbox was shagged, but I wasn't abusing it. Enjoy the R33 - they're a dying breed, and if they weren't $35k+ on CarSales in Queensland, I might have picked up one of those again, instead of the 370GT I own now (though I'm loving the 370GT, that big 3.7L V6 just hits different).
    • Howdy folks. I owned an R33 back in 2002, which was thoroughly beyond my capacity (financially speaking) to maintain/insure, so we parted ways in 2004. Fast forward 21 years (to literally yesterday, in fact) and I'm now the proud owner of a 2007 V36 370GT. I'm happily surprised by how much power the VQ37VHR makes, compared to the RB25DET, considering the latter is turbocharged. I had planned to add a turbo at some point but I'm on the fence about whether I'll even need it (though I do love the sudden onset of extra torque). Any other 370GT owners around the traps, I'd love to hear about your experiences with this car (good and bad).
    • Perhaps the answer is... more jacks!* *proper jacks must be used.
    • I NEVER think about using a scissor jack unless there is absolutely no other alternative. f**king things are dangerous, annoying and stupid.
