Lowered

Change racing steering wheel

tbh it's his car so he should do with it as he pleases.

However, my first thought when I see a lancer with alot of cosmetic styling is "you twat... it's never going to be an evo."

That's just me though. It's his first car so I think regardless of what advice we give him, he has already made his mind up anyway.

he is undecided atm and thus the bulliten post any advic is good advice he thinks so please help... also just wondering if he does go throuigh with it do you guys/gals no any good places to get it done

viet boy what kind of honda like a civic?... yea bubba but the insurance 4 a p plater on Red P plates wud be a fortune... ahaha for some reason skylin has a bad name for younger kids... damn fast and th furious

in the future he wants a skyline or s15 or sumthing nice

maybe a Civic, Accord (New model), Integra..prices are cheap for them..

something with vtec in it for abit of go, way better than a Lancer engine.

but is your mate trying to stay away from turbo cause of insurance? cause if not...180sx, silvia do alright

True story.

EVO-68U = A STANDARD lancer that get around my parts, full chameleon paint job,evo 8 bodykit i guess(going by number plates) huge F off cannon no doubt on ridiculous angle to kerb(cant remember) & big chromies.

when i pulled up beside it i almost sunk,as i thought it was a real evo8 then these lil 13yr olds on bmx say to me 'race him' im thinkin F off its a damn evo8. so taking off no boost what so ever and im infront of him, look in my mirror to see NO FMIC ghey!

It's like putting socks down your jocks.lol

P.S Another lancer i see on the way to work, its a damn ES or whatever they are(my boss has one) anyway this tool drives around with the number plates 'IMPRTD" don't people like this have sensible friends? or are their friends laughing as hard at them as i am.

P.P.S and yes theres also a bunch of fwd lancers with evo engines that haul ass.

I dont know what budget he has on the build (including the car purchase) so its hard to say. A modded lancer is normally deemed a teenage girl thing. I understand he wants to do as everyone else does, but everyone else gets taken as a joke to.

My thoughts would be an R32 or R33 N/A are rather cheap these days...and being N/A insurance etc shouldnt be too bad. Maybe some of the guys here with N/A's or had N/A's could shed some light?

Actually a non turbo skyline wouldnt be too bad for a p plater... good thoughts i totally forgot i had a non turbo 33 and it was fine still kicked a little arse well deff of the lancers etc that wanted to drag lol.... yea he is trying to stay away from turbo onc the insurnce company hears turbo they flip out...

IMO, I wouldn't waste money doing anything up until he can afford to do it to a decent car.. no point getting a lancer, civic, n/a skyline/silvia and blowing money on making it look pretty if he's going to get himself a turbo when he gets off his P's.

Get a bunky, drive it for 2yrs, save money, THEN get a real car and go nuts :(

So get a peice of junk and drive it till he can get something decent? i think he is ashamed to do that since he is nearly 21 and all of his mates have gone past the first car stage

BTW viet boi, how did u get it that cheap was it under your parents name and u as a driver? he is pulling figures out of his arse lik a magna wouild cost 1.1k

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.
    • My Nismo 1.5 churps a bit on reverse turns when cold, but besides that feels like a stock diff.
    • Yes, but, I paid cash and I'm pretty sure the receipt was in the bin 10 minutes after I got home Note to self, keep all receipts
    • Bunnings would have just handed you your money back on that one!
    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
