If you are worried about spending too much on petrol, why are you ready to spend all that extra on an engine????

Sorry, just doesnt add up.

An RB25DE shoud fit no probs and with the money you save from the conversion (vs RB25 NEO) you will be able to afford the petrol.

So is the RB25NEO more economical than an RB20DE? and by how much. Really if you want economical, buy another RB20DE, they are as cheap as chips. Even an RB25DE can be picked up for around 1K in aust, but as the NEO engine is a bit rarer, I wouldnt have a clue what they are worth, but I am sure they are more expensive again.

Have a look at some of the back issues of HPI - did a build up on a R43 GT-T, and they used a high flow for approx 230kw(from memory) at the rears.

I believe the NEO has a larger range of VVT than the R33, also the cooler on a GT-T is different to the GTS-t (presumably alot better) It would be quite conceivable that with a better tune, better cooler would easily make an extra 20kw.

BUT I think tumso is looking at the DE?

Tumso, you will also have to get an ECU upgrade if you change engines.

the best thing to put in your cefiro is an rb 25 from an r33 rather than the neo as the that rb25 is similar to the rb 20 the neo is very differnt. yes I have seen cefiro's with rb 26 :D they go very good. another thing to think of is an sr 20 I put one in my r32 skyline came up well .

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
