Hey guys, just found this section so i thought i would post a few pics, i do allot of track work up at Mallala International Raceway here in South Australia, don't do much skyline stuff but a small group of them came up to a track day recently along with the new R35 GTR so i put in a few of the photos from that day, almost all my work is with Porsche's, mainly 997 GT3's so i put in a few of the photos i have sold of them to.

The first picture was requested by a client to be printed as an A1 size poster so i did that for him and it turned out incredible!! no pixelation what so ever, so if anyone is interested in one you can PM me, also some of my work is for sale here,

I have managed to get a whole day photo shoot with the first South Australian delivered new GTR when it lands here in June 2009, it will be a Black on Black/red interior, the white one pictured below is a grey import and isn't a Australian delivered car, will keep you guys posted on the photoshoot.. anyways, enjoy the photos, comment to let me know what you guys thing, good AND bad comments :D

I think you should take those pictures down and upload them properly and embed it again.

The pictures are all dark/soft/not sharp etc etc

I just went to that site you listed and the pictures look a lot sharper and clearer (esp the first photo)

Nice work and pls list what gear you are using :ninja:

Also any panning shots??

what lenses do you have?

the shots shown above were taken with either my 18-135mm nikon lens or the tamron 70-300mm, i also have a 10-20mm sigma lens but that is yet to make it to a track day. when i get the D300 the 10-20 will be making more of an appearance

With lens choice. Ive been told tamron and sigma brand lens are crap. I currently have a nikon kit lens 18-55mm and a 50mm F1.8 prime lens.

Looking for something with longer focal length like a 70-200 F2.8 but the price for the nikon is nuts!! is the sigma/tamron alternative any good in your opinions? I have a Nikon.

i don't know who told you the tamron and sigma are crap....... i can tell you now they are not!! if you can afford it you should go for the nikon brand, but other than that the third party ones such as Tokina and sigma are 98% as good as the nikon/cannon ones and tamron is not that far behind. the third party ones are awesome for the price, i know many pros that use them as they can not justify the price. the main differences is the build quality, not saying they are crap, they are very good but the nikon are just a little bit more durable. also sharpness, they claim to be more sharp but every person i talk to can not pick it.....

I dont know whos told you tamron and sigma lens are crap. THEY ARE ONE OF THE BEST OUT THERE LOL!!!

If they were crap they wouldn't be in business. Professional photographers wouldn't use them if so!!

The price is expensive for that nikon lens you posted above (70-200 F2.8) coz its f 2.8 :) Its bloddy quick :(

If its VR it will be even more expensive.

Do you really need it?

Why not start of with something like this: 55-200 f4-f5.6 nikon lens VR

See if this suits your needs.

Heck even try out the 70-300mm f4.-5.6 AF --- BLOODY CHEAP!!! like under 200 bucks

That lens also comes with AF-S and VR - i think under 800 bucks..

I know there is a 80-200 one too.. About 1.4k :)

With some you can notice the big difference :(

Esp if you comparing it with the stock kit lens for example.

But yup the sigma/tamron are great alternatives :)

      Did you panel beat the dents or have you tried to repair this only using filler?  Is your sanding block soft/flexible and is following the shape of the panel rather then just knocking down the high points?

      I haven't knocked them down yet. I think I made the repair more complex than it should have been. I had rock chips combined with waviness and dents and I tackled it all in one because it was near each other and just end up wasting a bunch of bog lol. I'll knock down those areas and see how I go. And yep what you are saying at the end is correct. I think I might be sanding the top of a steep hill then my sanding block falls into the dent and gets rid of the guidecoat if that makes sense. Though shouldnt unless I'm covering too big of an area with not a long enough block. I'll try something new and provide some updates. Getting there though! Thanks as always.

      Yeah makes sense, hard to comment on your situation without seeing what your doing. I was talking generally before, I would not be looking to randomly create low spots with a hammer to then have to fill them.  It's hard without seeing what your doing, it sounds like you are using the guide coat to identify low spots, as you're saying the panel is still wavy. I don't see how you're not ending up with patches of guide coat remaining in a wavy panel? Once the high spots are knocked down to the correct level, surely to have a wavy panel you need low spots. And those low spots would have guide coat still in them?

      So I'll put filler past the repair area a bit to make sure I don't miss anything. Then I'll block it until it's almost level, put the guidecoat, then keep blocking until it's gone. Then it's still wavy.  In regards to hitting the panel, I saw this video might give more context - Skip to 0:47 he knocks it down. But yeah I'm sanding until the guidecoat is gone then checking because otherwise my filler is still well above the bodyline. Unless what you're saying is I should put guidecoat around it early, surrounding the filler then stip once it's gone?

      I refreshed the OEM injectors with the kit and connected it up. It now ideals okay even with the IACV removed. Driving still has the same cutoff issue like the 550cc injectors so the issue is somewhere else. I bought FPG's Fuel Pump Hanger. I will be installing it next, but it is not as straightforward as I thought it was with my limited wiring knowledge and no instruction on the specific model I purchased (FPG-089). I also got the incorrect billet clamp as I could not find info on the OEM sizing.
