need help i have a r33 gtst and for some reason its been over boosting to around 14/15 psi and cant find out why i have replaced all my vacuum lines replaced my actuator and checked my intercooler piping and clamps. i am currently using a t piece boost controller from turbo smart i took it off thinking it was faulty and put the standard factory one back on. and it is still boosting at 14/15 psi. i put the turbo smart t piece back on wound it right down and then turned it up 2 clicks and is still boosting the same any help from anybody would be appreciated.

what mods do you have (such as intercooler, etc)?

i ofund that after i put on my fmic i was getting servere boost spiking because the hose to the wastegate was coming from the manifold (new pipe that didn't have the nipple on it like the old one). so i cut the nipple off the old piping and welded it into the pipe from the turbo to the cooler and boost became steady as a rock.

i would go and buy a new length of hose and run it straight from wherever you currently have it hooked to the cooler/intake to the wastegate. don't run it through the boost solenoid or anything like that. then if it still runs high boost then it is either going to be that you have it hooked to the wrong place to start with, or your wastegate flap is fouling on the dump pipe.

wastegate flap is fouling on the dump pipe.

Im gonna x2 that.

I had the problem too, but i wasnt spiking that high, more like 11-12psi. It ended up being the dump pipe so got it "enhanced".

I set my EL2 Meter to .08bar (12ish-psi??) warning, and on the track, on the back straight at full throttle it blinked once or twice at the top of 3rd and top of 4th. But did drop back pretty quick. Wondering if it is still the wastegate/dump pipe. (JJR Split POS)

Will try an R32 Actuator too.. might help. You could try that too?

I had problem with my dump pipe as well. It's JJR (from just jap). And mine spikes to 15ish aswel and then goes R&R

thanks for all your help i have tryed everything that you all said and still no change i think its time to get it on the dyno and see if they can find it cheers

The way you can test whether its the dump pipe is by removing the turbo heat shield, taking the actuator rod off, and seeing if the wastgate opens freely. (push it back and forward to see if its hitting the dump pipe). It'll take you about 5 minutes to test that, if it is hitting something, then its the dump pipe.

I started a thread on it a while back in the forced induction forums...(theres a few pictures there aswel if you're unsure what I'm talking about, or you can pm me, I'm more than happy to try and help you out).

For the record, I couldn't get mine to work, so I'm still chasing down the workshop that sold it to me for an exchange for a bellmouth one. I know of another person that had the exact same problem and was fixed by changing to a bellmouth design dump pipe.

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
