lol splitfires 100%

Many people have reported a LOSS of power with them plus issues when using them.

Splitfires are a trusted brand that work 100% over a not so trusted brand.

where have people reported a LOSS of power??? sounds like BS.

i take it you have spitfires?

personally i'd just silicone up your stock stuff, coils pack are a pretty simple device and aslong as you give the contacts a clean and keep the insulation in tact they should be fine.....

yeah i've heard of people loosing power aswell... Hot 4's just did an article on it aswell (didn't say jjr but they were red ones...)

+1

i've also seen that article, they didn't say what brand but they were defiantly the jjr units :)

mate don't waste time with cheap chinese products. modifying engine components is a delicate process, i see loads of sau members modifying cars with cheap nasty chinese parts and wonder why the car is worse of.

do it once do it right, if you stock items are no longer up to the job then go with splitfire coils.

:(

What a ridiculous load of garbage.

The JJR Coil Packs have a 12 month warranty which you can be damn sure is easier to claim against than Splitfires should a problem occur.

Further to this, you only have to look at the sale thread for the JJR coils in their trader section to see how many people are using them with excellent results.

There is another brand, not JJR, but same colour that are known to have had several problems due to a quality problem in a particular batch, so be careful before you go jumping to conclusions.

Point to note, JJR Series II ECR33 Coil Packs in particular are Black not Red.

One of HPI's project cars ran the JJR coils in a magazine writeup not so long ago and from memory was putting out somewhere in the region of 400awkw with them.

i didnt read the article so im not sure how soon the spark issue occurred with those red coil packs in the article.

but the JJR packs have 12 month warranty with them. so if theyre not producing spark at top end take them back. i doubt they would sell a product and expect people to be returning them straight after they purchase them.

very true

JJR Series 2 Coilpack

Super Spark Coil pack

JJRs are black.

well the article displayed sr20 units with no brand name so they would be your typical jjr ect. i believe with critical components such as this i wouldn't go on the cheap side. all these jjr and no name products come from the same china town place anyway.

i personally would stick with a trusted brand, we all know how dodgy the china stuff is.

its like trying to compare a kkr turbo to garret or hks, hell the kkr will make power but your typical garret, hks, trust, blitz ect will make stacks more on the same boost. why compromise $100 odd dollars when you can have something that will outperform and out last and will give you peace of mind.

that’s my 2cents anyway.

:(

I got over 500AWHP with JJR coils not a problem! Cant see why you would you pay so much extra when they seem to be fine, well so far anyway.

Still thumping my old car around in the UAE touring car championship with the JJR G4 brakes for its second season with no issues apart for replacing the first set of rotors after almost 2000 track kms. Very happy so far.

Any one know where the spitfires are made anyway?

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
