Joel, as I posted before, mods such as full exhaust, FMIC, boost control to 14psi , fuel pump and piggy back ECU (such as a haltec) will net you ~200 awkw. And this is from an owner of a Legnum, Sil80 with RB26 for circuit sprints & an R32 skyline on ozvr4 when asked about the whether to have an R32 or a legnum:

Seriously though, line your Skyline up against my Leggy (has around 180rwkw haven't had the minceptor properly tuned yet but it'll be very close to that) and i will beat you every time pretty much everywhere.

Don't bother asking the SAU guys what you should do, they'll all say keep the Skyline.

Having had turbo Nissans for a long time, the Leggy is a much more practical car. The Leggy/Galant will cost you more to operate and the parts taek a little longer to get, but overall, the Leggy is more of a businessmans EVO, in a wagon

ps a Leggy with around 180-200awkw is similar in pace to a line with ~ 260rwkw and yes i'm speaking from experience

*sigh*

Back to topic;

Anyone mentioned the Series 3 R31 Aussie Wagon? Plenty of em around, cheap to repair, easy to mod, blah blah...

And best thing is, since its a family you're putting in it, u won't go so ballistic when the kids trash it... unlike a stag or legnum or evo :blink:

True. But they may want something more modern and with all the goodies like airbags, ABS etc.

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
