You do realise that's pretty much the behaviour they're trying to stop with this law, right?

LOL smartass :P

ahh i see

what does everyone think the odds are that cars will be confiscated and sold ?

Just for owning a powerful car when the laws come in? Very, very unlikely IMO.

Hey i just got caught doing 101kmph in a 50 zone and i have to go to court i dont think i will contest it because i was blatantly speeding.. I think I am going to lose my license for 3 months.. What I want to know is.. When I lose my license do I do my learners again? If so is it the whole thing like driving test / log book / hpt ? Would like to know cheers.

Why were you doing 101kph in a 50kph zone?

Yeah, you have to start right from the beginning if you're on P's.

Also, 6 months is the minimum for hoon law, which is what 51kph over the limit is considered. So I doubt you'd get out of it with only 3 months. Also, not sure if you have to be on phase 2 for 6 months like everyone else, but I believe you do.

*insert rant about how drink driving is a lesser penalty and it shouldn't be here*

Yes, suspension on your P's = cancelled and start again from scratch. I had to do it many years ago and the second time doing the practical was more nerve wracking that the first!

I got caught by a laser was so fkn pissed i look at the reader gun and he turns it around and im just like wtf !!!!!! He said it might be 3 months thats what im hoping for.. It took like 2 weeks to come through in the mail..

lol Bubba, u nawty boy!

Same here, except if you've done time you don't loose that... But yes, must do driving/prac test and HP test again...

lol  I used to be a bit silly.. sensible but still silly.. lost it from points anyway, it was just the final 6pt straw that broke the camels back :D I have calmed down a LOT in the past few years, haven't had a fine in god knows how long! heh

The SECOND time I sat for my license, was just as they were bringing in the 2years+logbook stuff. To this day I can't figure out how they came to the conclusion I had to be on my 2nd P's for 15months and 8 days.. I had three weeks to go on my P's the first time :wave::)

Lol.. you should NOT be pissed as I'm pretty sure u knew u were speeding and should be prepared for it

What did you say to the cop?

"Lulz, oh mia god sir, thought this was the freeway :) "

    • I'm normally copping my own abuse from neglecting my daily drivers. "Those suspension bushes will last a bit more", "Don't worry about the oil leak, just keep topping it up". The project cars I'm always doing things slowly on them as I'm wanting them to be done better, and neater, and nicer. Luckily I don't have to deal with 18 year old Matt's "Learning to wire" stuff in the project cars. And there's only one piece of wiring I'm displeased about in the Landcruiser, and it's about to be cut out... However, the box loads of parts that have been going through this place lately for the Landcruiser... Brake pads Brake Rotors Full handbrake overhaul Wheel Bearings Seals Swivel hubs Steering Boxes Half the suspension joints Shocks Air bags (Ones to go in the rear springs for towing) Water pump Timing kit Lower timing case Harmonic Balancer Radiator Lots of other little seals and shits Gas struts for the bonnet New power window switches And god knows what else I've forgotten... Ha ha ha I have my fingers crossed the pinion seals don't start leaking on the diffs, that the transfer case doesn't leak, and the gearbox input shaft doesn't leak, nor the rear main seal. As they're about the only seals I haven't replaced in the driveline! I'm seriously eyeing off buying new caliper rebuild kits front and rear brake calipers... I'll probably recheck all the valve clearances soon too, and hopefully, it should be all good and sweet to haul some long distance trips again!
    • Every time I pull my 3x gauges out of the console and see the crack-addict way that I did the wiring, and I just can't bring myself to tear it all apart and "make it nice", because it is currently working. In fact, the last time I was in there I probably made it worse.
    • The best part is when you own the car long enough that you look back and find your OWN ham fisted amateur shit!
    • The annoying part about neglect, is when you start to replace one thing, and find ten more broken things. Ham fisted monkey repairs you normally only find out about when trying to do something unrelated! Ha ha   Neglect you can kind of anticipate the huge costs to fix it all. Ham fistedness is normally a shock the first time your work on a new old car, as everything "looked" good before.
