Hey Everyone!!!

Thanks so much for all your support, I truly appreciate it and so did Christine!!! FANTASTIC day was had by all.

This was my first event, very stressful but definitely rewarding!! as you could see how much effort was put in by the turnout we had on the day!

Ive just had a five day rest after three months of planning, promoting and organising, we are talking from 9am in the morning till 2am the next day at times!!! it was a full time job!

We are doing up a report this week to improve and learn for next year THATS RIGHT !!!NEXT YEAR!!!! we are really looking forward to it as we learned so much from this one and how we can ensure that people don't get lost etc and provide better directions as this seems to be a common problem on cruises.

Also we are getting people's opinion on a social event we will be holding to thank you all for your support, no money or donation just a get together and socialise/hang out.

We are thinking Prospect, BBQ and photoshoot day probably January or early Feb next year on another sunday.

Let me know what you guys think and if your interested???

Thanks )

MRXTCZ

Yes you were meant to come back to the fiddler at 3pm for food etc we had a spot reserved.... the food was not provided though so you didnt miss out on too much you would have ended up buying your own lol.

GUYS i do apologise re Girls - we had a hell of alot of ppl let us down on the day.......... i dont think ppl realised how big it was going to be, not even my best friends thought it would be a good turn out, NO ONE had a clue how much time and effort was put in, but i do promise that next year will be bigger and better!!

If you want a Fusion Alien and you were the first fifty i have a few left just let me know so i can put it aside! the next cruise i will bring a few with me anyway as i do keep to my word!

To all those who want to know who won best dressed car go to www.myspace.com/promogirlzpromotions

For all those who want to see the video go to www.promogirlz.com.au please be patient if you do not have broadband thankyou.

LOL that's pretty pathetic, he had bugger all done to his car by way of decoration. The stagea with custom vinyls or Jase's effort of buying a pink package for the black R34 were far more enthusiastic. Between that and the lack of organisation of this event, I shan't be attending anymore that promogirlz run. :)

    • Lets say I wanted to buy this, specifically for this purpose. How do I actually perform the function. Can I still buy a Consult-1? Am I about to be burned by the fact my car is a 2000 model Series 2 R34 and thus will be some stupid other system? Do I just need this -> https://obd2australia.com.au/product/nissan-consult-14-pin-to-usb-ddl-diagnostic-interface-with-ftdi-ft232r-chip/ And with what software?
    • That's probably OK. That's a face to face compression joint between two surfaces with the clamping load provided by those bolts. So.... it's unlikely that the bolts will end up feeling that load in shear, unless the clamping surfaces are not large enough, bolts not got enough tension on them, etc etc to prevent the two faces from moving wrt each other. Which... I would hope the designers have considered, seeing as it's probably one of the most important things the upright has to do apart from resist collapsing in its own right. But yes, it would definitely be worth asking them what their safety factor on that part of the design was. I tend to think that the casting, being a casting, is not necessarily the strongest bit of material in the world. It's about an inch square, and when you think about the loads that are being put into it, you have to wonder what safety factor the Nissan boys (and every other OEM engineer who has designed all the millions of other uprights that look essentially the same) used to account for defective casting, aging, severe impacts on the wheel, etc etc.
    • Those bolts would be orders of magnitude stronger that cast aluminium though.  And its mainly clamping force, not shear they are dealing with?
    • Except all that twisting force that is breaking a cast piece, appears to be going through 4 bolts in the picture Johnny posted of the BryPar one...
    • The smart approach is to use the gearbox loom from the manual car. Makes it a lot easier - just plugs into the switches on the box and plugs into the main loom up near the fusebox. Then you only need to deal with bypassing the inhibit switch. The other approach requires you to use the wiring diagram to identify those wires by colour and location, perhaps even indulging in a little multimeter action to trace them end to end to make sure, and then.... you will have the answers you need. The R34 wiring diagram is available on-line (no, I do not have a link to it myself - I would have to do a search if I wasn't able to go to the copy I have at home).
