im probably gonna need a new front bar and lights and such. but its not that bad. the bonnet needs to be repaired.

can anyone tell me of any good repair places around the eastern suburbs area? im in doncaster/templestowe.

Sorry to hear that man......good luck with the repair. I grew up in Doncaster but never needed my car fixed. However my parents weren't so lucky......unfortunately I can't remember the name of the place but they can be found behind the old pizza hut/pancake parlour on donnie rd (theres a little side street next 2 the old pizza hut, take that then turn 1st right....u can't miss it on ur right hand side)

they did a top job....parents owned the car a further 4 yrs and never had a prob.

hey chef, think i saw you on springvale road today?

around 1030, would that be right?

i was like... shit, thre goes my car....

but was stuck at a light and tried to hoon up and follow, but gone.

btw, where is JR auto in box hill? me and a mate were looking for some rice the other day, and we couldn't find it...

naw, hypertech is a performance shop for serious stuff..

If you just want a new front bar, try jetspeed..or IQ Auto (see Front Bars thread).. For the other bits you'll need to find wreckers..

skyline33 (PM) generally has lots of bits and pieces.

i am sorry to hear/see this mate.....i was hit from behind last year(although not too bad) and i know how much it hurts...

i just wanted to say stay away from a Clayton panel beaters whom i dont wanna name here but will do in pm if you need...bastards drove me crazy when i trusted my car to them....

anyway glad you are ok and that the damage is not too bad...

good luck with the repairs.

i dont plan on going to a clayton panel beater. i want something locally to me. the car is currently undrivable. it starts up fine and all that, but some of the fans punctured the radiator i think and whenever i drive, steam comes out. it was doing that as i drove it home. now im gonna have to get it towed to the repair place. more $ for me to pay.

    • From the factory on RB26s there's a fitting on the intake manifold collector/"plenum" that provides pre-throttle boost signal. That's how they did it back in the day, I figure it's fine to replicate it.
    • I would be surprised if that wasn't the issue. It's probably telling you, that even if you remove the plastic liner, you may have some other clearance issues that may occur too in some scenarios. IE, tyre to guard. It looks like someone has already rolled the lip, but you may still have issues in the future IE, turning and hitting a bump etc. The fact it changes how bad it makes the noise when you are going backward vs forward is highly indicative that it's the tyre rubbing. They do make a terrible sound, even if you're only pushing a project car that has a liner hanging down on a tyre!   Has the car been lowered? If it has been, what is the measurement from the centre of the wheel hub to the lip of the guard straight up?

    • Mark's a bit smarter than people give him credit... He'd convince the person that is to become dead, to drive him to the forest first. That way his car has no evidence in it, and he's free to dispose of their vehicle permanently how he sees fit too...
    • But if you had to go bury a body in the forest, would you not put that in the boot? Most of them are >=90kg these days.
