Stuffed Electronic Boost Controller

My HKS electronic boost controller works only sometimes.

It is always on but only sometimes will boost to 11-12psi and the rest of the time wont go past about 7psi.

Does this mean that the boost controller is stuffed or could it be something else?

is there a high and a low setting on your boost controller? The solenoid could be on it's way out, maybe some dodgy/worn wiring to the solenoid. I'd say a dicky actuator but usually thats a consistant thing and it sounds like its an intermittent thing. Double check the wiring around the solinoid and around the whole loom to start off.

Yeah there is a low and high setting. I'll check the wiring today.

I think that maybe a hose to the solenoid is a little kinked which might be causing it.

Turn your ign on and listen to the solenoid in the engine bay. If you can hear it making a on/off ticking noise then the solenoid is gone. I had a HKS EVC 2 do this.

Hey,

What i have noticed is split hoses around the circled area in the photo.

Would this have anything with the boost sometimes not going above .5 - .6bar ???

The boost controller is set to 11-12psi but only sometimes boosts to that.
