hey phil i hope you keep the stagea flag flying, if things fall in to place i'll be there....................hope your mates s15 is pretty std cause if it's warmed up you will want to be on the ball

goodluck.

I know he hasn't done anything to it as yet. Should be good fun (and legal) no mater what the outcome.

cheers

Phil

Hey Phil,

You got the cheat sheet on the turbo? Or your running a tricky boost control. A good launch at about 21/2 shoud blow thw pretender away.

But I will tell you my son's S13 went 300hp on the dyno last week, and that was raw, fine tuning is expected to get another 30. I think with the power/weight ratio the 13 would really s on a Stag.

I know I cant keep up with the 13 on 10 psi, I am just too heavy. But safe.

Yes Hugh, but your son's S13 has alot of work done, 300HP is an awesome figure. Should be enough to make it go sideways :)

My Celsior was quicker than a S14 with a cooler and exhaust and it weighs over 1.8t!!!!

Even though the Stagea has more weight a stock S15 vs. a stock Stagea(S1) may be fairly matched. But Phil's has some goodies.

Even if I don't run it'd be good to go the drags again.

Its only meant to go slideways. LOL Its a pig to drive like a normal.

He hasen't had it on the dino as yet. I have been in the passinger seat and it did feel quite quick.

Turbo 2lt auto at 1300kg aprox verses Turbo 2.5lt auto at 1700kg.(and 240hp atw but don't tell him )

I have to admit the power/weight has got me a littel woried. :)

cheers

not trying to psych you out or anything phil cause i know you got some goodies, but i can understand your a leetle bit jumpy :D i assume the s15 is a manual maybe he'll stall it  , and by the way i hope your daughter is going to tape it cause if i cant see it live i want to see it posted

If you can wind up the boost for a super fast launch, well 9 or 10 on launch should see him off.

Not sure of the S13 weight, but it has nothing superfluous. Air Con, fan, seats, sound deadening, spoiler.power steering, soon to be C/F bonnet, boot, guards. No dash, radio or heater. If it dont make it go, heaveho.

Not promising but we might get there.

It is an auto but it is a type R whatever that means. I think it has something to do with it having a slightly larger ballbering turbo than standard.

I am running 12lb of boost at the moment but would like to get it back to 999 to have a power run on the dino just to make shore all is well.

I will have the camera there on the day so I will post up a few shots (if I can remember how to do it).

I may be able to get some video of it to but I am not shure weather I will be able to post it up here.

I will do my best to keep the stagea flag flying high.

Cheers

I'd love to see the video footage as well if you get it recorded.

Post it up on YouTube, then link it here. You can even get it to show directly on this page if you put [ video ] and [ /video ] tags on each side of the web link.

Example:

[ video ] "link to video on YouTube" [ /video ] (Ignore the spaces, of course...)

The S13 was here yesterday and I have a copy of the dyno results.

273.1 RWHP at 20psi, but leaked off to 16psi. The plate over where the cold start used to be has a broken stud and this was where the leak is.

We wont be at the meet onext week. We need to fix the leak and get the body kit fitting better.

Personalized number plat should be ZIP TIE.

Hi

Well that was a waste of time we prayed our money at the gate got to the staging lanes at 4.00 had six drops of rain so they called it off. :) Of cores now at 4.45 it is fine and looks as though that is how it will stay for the rest of the night.

This was as close as we came to racing. At least I beat him off the track (that is his car behind mine) LOL

We have set a new date Sat Jan 10 2009 for our grudge match.

I will be out there next Saturday 20 to watch :)

    • AHHHH gotchaa, I'll do that once I am home again. I tried doing the harness with the multimeter but it seems the car needed a jump, there was no power when it was in the "ON" position. Not sure if I should use car battery jump starter or if its because the stuff that has been disconnect the car just does send power.
    • As far as I can tell I have everything properly set in the Haltech software for engine size, injector data, all sensors seem to be reporting proper numbers.  If I change any injector details it doesnt run right.    Changing the base map is having the biggest change in response, im not sure how people are saying it doesnt really matter.  I'm guessing under normal conditions the ECU is able to self adjust and keep everything smooth.   Right now my best performance is happening by lowering the base map just enough to where the ECU us doing short term cut of about 45% to reach the target Lambda of 14.7.  That way when I start putting load on it still has high enough fuel map to not be so lean.  After 2500 rpm I raised the base map to what would be really rich at no load, but still helps with the lean spots on load.  I figure I don't have much reason to be above 2500rpm with no load.  When watching other videos it seems their target is reached much faster than mine.  Mine takes forever to adjust and reach the target. My next few days will be spent making sure timing is good, it was running fine before doing the ECU and DBW swap, but want to verify.  I'll also probably swap in the new injectors I bought as well as a walbro 255 pump.
    • It would be different if the sealant hadn't started to peel up with gaps in the glue about ~6cm and bigger in some areas. I would much prefer not having to do the work take them off the car . However, the filler the owner put in the roof rack mount cavities has shrunk and begun to crack on the rail delete panels. I cant trust that to hold off moisture ingress especially where I live. Not only that but I have faded paint on as well as on either side of these panels, so they would need to come off to give the roofline a proper respray. My goal is to get in there and put a healthy amount of epoxy instead of panel filler/bog and potentially skin with carbon fiber. I have 2 spare rolls from an old motorcycle fairing project from a few years back and I think it'd be a nice touch on a black stag.  I've seen some threads where people replace their roof rack delete with a welded in sheet metal part. But has anyone re-worked the roof rails themselves? It seems like there is a lot of volume there to add in some threads and maybe a keyway for a quick(er) release roof rack system. Not afraid to mill something out if I have to. It would be cool to have a cross bar only setup. That way I can keep the sleek roofline that would accept a couple bolts to gain back that extra utility  3D print some snazzy covers to hide the threaded section to be thorough and keep things covered when not using the rack.
    • Probably not. A workshop grade scantool is my go to for proper Consult interrogation. Any workshop grade tool should do it. Just go to a workshop.
    • In my head it does make sense to be a fuel problem since that is what I touched when cleaning the system. When I was testing with the fuel pressure gauge, the pressure was constantly 2.5 bar with the FPR vacuum removed. When stalling, the pressure was going up to 3.0 bar (which is how it should be on ignition).
