This thread reminds me of the bashing the blokes over at Performance forums gave my Silvia.. I was saying I didnt think FWD cars where sports cars. All the losers with their FWD Hondas piped up and went on about how shit Silvias are.

The internets such a wonderful reminder of how many dead shits there are in this world :)

I have owned Four MX6's (all highly modified) as i do have a soft spot for them. They are luxurious and fun cars with a lot of options.

I have had a R32 and i have a R33 now so i am in a good position to comment on this.

The best i ever did with my MX6's was a 14.2 and that broke the gearbox.

On the street, 15 is the best they could possibly do.

There is no way they would get past a stock Skyline no matter how modified they are.

As i said, they are a nice car but they are no street racer.

I am a member of the MX6 forums over there so i might reply there too.

Yeah, is pretty funny.. Alot of peple can dish it out, and not really have an understanding on what there talking about.. hehe funny stuff.. Well, anyways.. Im an owner of the mx6.. and to say the least, am proud of the car. I also own my 32 aswell.. And, by far, the mx has no chance over the 32. But, they are both two very different cars.. The mx being a turbo front wheel drive, and the 32 a turbo rear wheel.. Id say the car he beat was a non turbo.. theres just no way he would eb able to beat any skyline.. i know that for fact.. i have done test's.. I must adnit though.. there is one mx6 that does and can beat my 32.. it has slight booost, 3inch exhaust blah blah.. and my 32 being stock, the mx pulls away from the line, and i par with him in speed, but cannot pass. MIght be my driving style.. brass button.. But, to get those sorta times from an mx, ie 14'98, is very good.. not too many can get low like that without major modifications.. As mrrb20 said.. there more of a cruise family car.. they are actually a turbo 626 in two door format. the mx came out from 89-92.. the front turbo models..The only problem they have is severe torque steer.. just somepeople are a bit over eager in there claims i guess..!?

HA HA!!.. just read through it again.. thats the funniest thing ive seen for a long time! HA HA!:bahaha:

I don't know what your sniffing, but it seems that R32's and R33's are now no match for the MX6.
I have witnesses to say that when my MX6 was stock, I knocked off two R33's. One was manual, and it was a battle for a lane, so only a 20 metre run really. The other was a friends auto and we had lots and lots of runs. I had him in every aspect. From 0 - 190.
With the extra boost I'm now sporting, I can say it would be an easy win.
I have very similiar mods to timtx5 who pulls 14.8 1/4 mile. I don't know any stock skylines who can do that.
I've never seen a stock R32 crack anything lower than a 15.4, and the quickest stock R33 I've seen cracked a 14.9 (altho it had slicks) and I frequent the street drags at willowbank.

So I think your times for skylines are a little off.

Lights go green and off we go, Bye Bye show pony..........
Have you even been in a MX6? I doubt it...

Why don't you go to bed sonny, you have school tomorrow.

so to lex, where u at boy? if ur in melb id like to see u on the street. but if u got an r32 gts-t ill just laugh at u! man i am in a bitchy mood!

sorry had to do it, for those of you who cant be bothered checking the link..here a a few examples what the thread contains...enjoy...

what a load of shit.

Basicly, you have captured clips from both post's.. And, they both dwindled down into a flame against the first gen, and second gen.. tsk tsk.. very stupid..

I think you're missing the point here. It wasn't anything to do with 2nd Gen at all but then again..there were SOME 1st Gen people who decided to dwindle it into a flame. It all started with MX6 1st gen vs R32. And how some twits decide that their 1st gen cars were the supercars of the world.

LOL now that is funny.

I used to own a 88' TX5 2.2 n/a blah blah blah.

I looked long and hard about either putting in a 2.2l turbo motor in it, or just sell it and get a turbo TX5 or MX6.

But for the cost it just wasn't worth it. I think stock they are about 110kw (at the motor !) and in a car full of all the nice gear the weight is up around ~1350kg.

Sure they go 'OK', but I can tell you now that there is no way that a mildly mod'd MX6 (say 170kw) would beat a R33 with just exhaust and a bit of boost.

You just need to do the figures. 170kw and 1350kg (MX6) and say 200kw and 1380kg (R33).

Plus the fact that the TX5/MX6 are front wheel drive and traction is a BIG issue...

I'm not saying the R33's are the fastest thing on the road cause there's plenty of beasts out there, but these guys just think their MX6's are the best thing since sliced bread !!

One day they'll have a proper run against a R32 and R33 and then they'll realise. But I can bet my last dollar they won't tell their mates that they got beaten by one :)

Oh BTW: yes I realised that the R33 was better than the TX5/MX6 and that's why I sold it and bought a R33

    • @Supernanoyour car has ended up in my hands and I was wondering if there has been any work done to the motor?
    • Sigh... yeah OEM mount rear battery, very R33, very demure, very mindful.
    • Would need a substantial current draw in the car to make a bunch of sparks. Obvs to now test resistance to ground of the car's B+ lead. If there's a short there, you'll see it. Only likely place for that, as you suspect is alternator. But there is also the possibility that rats have had a chew on some insulation. Shitbox has the battery in the boot, yeah? Plenty of cable to attack.
    • Oh, I thought of that too... I disconnected the battery and hooked up the leads direct to the car without the battery in place. Sparks... I suspect the following: Alternator has decided to kill itself Starter has decided to kill itself I'll recharge the battery, then unplug both, and go from there. The above might take 6 months - however I did buy a Victron 15 AMP trickle charger, apparently it's better than CTEK? Amazon, delivery by tonight. https://www.amazon.com.au/Victron-Battery-Charger-15-Amp-waterproof/dp/B07P4LMMMD?ref_=ast_sto_dp
