i just "tried" to install the turbo controller from ebay and when i was running the car to find how to have the controler so it would run at 10 pound but the guage kept hitting something like 20 pound. i kept trying to change it but it wouldn't go down and now when i run the car and open the throttle all the way smoke comes out the exhaust and it doesn't sound like the turbo is spinning....wat do u think it is?...also wat can i do?

high chance of it being a turbo seal. get it checked out mate. doing a turbo swap is pretty easy (done it for a fair few SAU'ers so far) with the right tools/skill it shouldnt take more than 3-4hrs in and out.

u in sydney? do u know any1 that can check it out for me?

I'd like to know if you can f**k a turbo and not have it blow white smoke, as thats what my cars doing, no boost, bad metallic noises when it tries to boost.

turbo can do a few things on failure. you can blow a seal and have white smoke pour out, you can blow an oil seal ring and blow blue smoke out or it can seize up/break apart and have no smoke pour out.

yeah im in bankstown. send me a pm if you want me to check it out.

Well it appears mine is leaking oil (bottom of the turbos covered in oil), and the two times I tried to boost it (just after the nice big bang) I was getting metallic noises, all other vital signs were ok though. so I guess the turbos probably lunched itself, plus I was getting some light knocking sound from the head when I had it idling, this arvo. Best thing to do is a compression test?

best thing would be to get it towed to a mechanic and get him to do compression/leakdown and oil pressure test.

yeah dude sounds like turbo is gone.

i didn't get a bang though and i can't see any oil at the moment.

thanks for the assist  as f**ked up as it is trying not to let this get me down

for $250 for a 2nd hand turbo you can do it all yourself if you have the confidence.

it sounds like your turbo bud. it could be something else but thats my take on what you've reported.

can any1 help me out with a stock R33 turbo for cheap?...i don't have much money at the moment due to debts so if any1 can help me out and we come to an arrangement or something...i am only a 1st year sparky apprentice so i get paid peanuts :)

you saved $150 getting the boost controller fitted at your local dyno shop.

so it cannot all be that bad, remember when you put your new turbo on you will need to get the controler fitted by a professional so your new turbo does not break as well :P

    • I thought I'd come back and add something I JUST learned. A Toyota LandCruiser with a 1HZ, mates perfectly with a bottle of Nulon brake fluid. As in, it perfectly screws in. Great make shift funnel when you cut the bottom of it off. This may work for your Corolla.   Unfortunately, tipping a 10L drum is much harder than a 4 to 6L bottle, and they no longer include the easy pour tap which was just perfection to use previously.
    • Guys since i bought r33 gts25t coupe 1994 automatic a/t(manual swap 350z gearbox)  all i got is problems, always problems. Lets start with that when i turn key into ignition(ON) fuel pump doesnt always works. Sometimes i have to turn key twice Off/on/off/on until it primes. Its new, dw300 - 340lph. My gearbox broke so i did gearbox swap, install different intake manifold, injectors and i take pipes. Car was sitting in garage for more than half a year. I did assembly all not that long ago and when i turn ignition cant hear prime. All of sudden it stopped working. Theres many videos on YouTube how to make relay mod on r33 straight from battery so i did and it doesnt work! 😰 30 - battery positive  87 - positive from fuel pump to relay 85, 86 - one of two wires from original fuel pump wires(light blue, grey) and it didn’t work. so I check on ignition and took original BLUE relays wires from trunk, next to fuses. (I believe it’s IGN+ and ECU pin 18. it didn’t work…  tried connecting (IGN+ from og relay) and (ECU 104 from 1of4 FPCM wires) to my new relay 85/86 and it didn’t work.  I unplug FPCM. Didn’t work. im thinking what’s wrong   fuel pump is working, if I leave IGN+ on 85 and 86 straight to ground it works but it’s just nonstop. Since it getting constant 12v after key in ON. light blue wire gives me 6-8v.  so how this should be connected? What causing ECU not giving — on pin? Or I did sth wrong and that’s why it doesn’t work? I need negative signal on ECU that control fuel pump. What this should be?
