Security Tinting

Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with Security Window Tinting (the stuff that is mean to be smash resistant),

Has anyone actually had an experience of having a smashed window protected by this window tinting.. ie. does it actually work or is it all bullcrap..

how does this stuff work etc.. and what price should i be expecting to pay?

farking I had tinting... but only tinted section where the only visible /blocking the window... so

even though you have tinted window/Security tint... you should take whole window and tint whole thing...

doing only part wont help cux they smash then just push/pull them out of the fitting......

so yeah I guess it helps upto the limit.

My tinting dude said he can do it for like $200ish all round... i *think* (its been a while since i spoke to him).

i think they take a fair bashing... if you want his number, let me know.

mmhmm sounds nice, coz the local normal tint joint quoted me $200 allround, coz there is some crap i cant get off on my back window...

but yeah.. most tint will stop windows from shattering, as in if a rock flys up...

so yeah is this special tint?

yeah, it's 2mm thick. Appently it is not perfect but it helps. I got quoted about $340 from a couple of places. (my car is a sedan)

Ohh and they can't use that tint for the front or back windows.

i understand why they can't tint the front window, but why not the back?

I think it is because the thick tint is much harder/impossible to do to the back widow, not because it is too dark.
