hey mate,

what you need to do is lift the cd player up so that the gap is down the bottom there maybe some brackets there from the stocko one if not you can make em, its not that difficult and get a pocket from strathfield or the likes of those car audio places which cost like 16 bucks. the stereo will sit on it and you may need a thin layer of foam paper or sumthing round those lines and thats pretty much it.

ALTERNATIVELY...if you dont want to be like everyone else and have a boring pocket :( ...

my old setup before i got double din, was a piece of clear or fogged perspex, and then you put a sticker on it (lettering, numberplate, your name, or shopping list of a brand or something etc) and then paint it black or grey or depending on your dash. Then peel the sticker off and your left with a semi see through whatever, and just put in a neon behind the perspex and it looks hawt imo.

I had interchangable pieces, and a little LED set up that changed ways to flash and glow and chase etc behind it in blue which matched everything nicely. hopefully the pic included comes out alright, i've still got these sitting around unused if you want one, or any, or multiple and i got a heap of perspex available as well if you are metro melbourne? anybody else reading this if you want offcuts of perspex pm me i got too much it's all going in the rubbish bin before christmas

cheers,

shanus

Hi Luke, if the Gladstone you live in is in Queensland pop into Supercheap Auto, I saw a single din sony drawer that houses an mp3 player. Has a plug for the MP3 inside and RFA jacks out back to plug into the rear of the stereo, not 100% sure of the price but i think it was around $49.

yeah in queesnland about an hour or so from rocky?

pretty sure ive seen ur car parked off hansen road

i got a pocket lol

but i also bought perspex took out my ash tray and put my number plate numbers on the perspex and painted it and im gonna run a led light behind it once i buy another car lighter

will get a pik once fully done

    • Impossible to remove the housing while turbo is installed on the manifold on the engine. So I have to do it anyways. I plugged it so there will not be any debris in there. Will vacuum aswell
    • would a r34 gtr hood line up with gt/gtt stock fenders? after latch, front bumper and hinges are swapped for gtr ones? or would the fenders be too low or high in relation to the hood surface? ( I believe seeing somewhere that gtr front fenders use some type of riser for the sides, but do not know how that relates to stock gt/gtt fenders.)
    • You just need to remove the compressor housing, not the entire turbo. I would not be drilling and tapping anything with the housing still on anyways.
    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 😂 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
