Gday,

Due to my wheels having gay offset ive been trying to run some spacers to make them stick out a bit further, I tried some 25mm last week and while the spacers fitted fine it was slightly too big and hitting my guard (by about 3mm)

So I thought no biggie ill order some 20mm ones instead.

They came today and I tried to fit them and the issue im now having is that my original studs are sticking out through the spacer so I cant get my wheel back on because they are in the way. Is it possible to get shorter studs so they dont stick out past my spacer?

Ive attached a pic so everyone can see what im on about.

Thanks guys

hey bro i recently had the same problem but i got 25mm spacers and those studs were to long theres one solution grinder and cut off wheel :nyaanyaa: i cut back my spacer studs with no worries just ran a die nut over the thread again to make sutr the threads were still good.

i know its not the same problem as urs cause urs are on the car therefore. i still say cut them down i had to grind off 2-3 threads on my studs as they were to long on the car. also my friend is a mechanic and he said its a fair bit of f#@king around to get shorter studs in there u have to take whole hub off.

happy grinding bro

you need to cut off the studs.

no point buying shorter ones. that is about $150 worth of studs. far better to cut the ones you have. then if in the future you want to run without the spacers then buy new studs when you need them. easy to buy at niceproducts.com.au

Ok cheers guys I think I will just cut them then, I spoke to a tyre shop today and he said I should send my rims off to be milled (or grilled cant remember what it was called) where they make small cuts on the inside of the rim to clear the studs, he said that would be about $100 a rim so I think I will just cut my studs down.

Wheel spacers in NSW are illegal....

So are..

excessively lowered cars,

tinted windows beyond 30%,

intercooler piping through a hole in the chassis,

unsecured pod filters,

dangling green scented trees from your rear view mirror,

Add it to the list.

So yeah mate, im sure he is well aware of that. And i bet you knew he was aware of it to. Maybe try not to sound like an asshole when you inform people of things in the future hey?

Or just trying to get your post count up?

Cheers

    • That looks good, but I think you're going to need much beefier side skirts now.
    • They are daft and there's a reason it never caught on. Steering feel? We don't need no stinking steering feel!
    • I gotta pull you up on this. It's driving me crazy. A shutter is something that closes, like over a window or in a cmera. The word you want is shudder. That LSD is clearly f**ked. Take it to a diff shop and get it disassembled and examined by an expert. YOu might have plates welded together or something equally crazy.
    • Define "starting to fail". Wy not just rebuild them?
    • Check the Nistune doco. There are a few assumptions being made here that might not be valid. I will list the things that occur to me: Base map. Base map for what? Base map for Z32? Then the cranking pulse width is probably wrong for an RB25. The extra 500cc of capacity might well be enough to prevent it from catching. Base map for RB25? I don't think you can load one of those into a Z32. You have to just make the settings correct for an RB25 in the Z32 base map. That is either K or the TIM to get the pulsewidth right. Loom. You bought a loom for an RB. And you plugged it into a Z32 ECU. Did you make sure that any iwre differences were swapped. From memory, there's at least a couple. And as per the others, I would suggest making sure that the fuel pressure is correct while cranking and that the injectors are actually flowing as expected. They really must come out and go on the bench, unless you do find that you have messed up as per above points. I would also suggest watching in Nistune to make sure that everything is reading correctly. That the correct binary flags are raised at the right time (like the crank signal), that there's no stupid values in K or TIM. That you have not got mismatched firmware for the ECU and/or a wrong image loaded.
