Hi peoples...

Anyone wanting a decent set of coilovers to suit an R33 GTST?

2nd hand Cusco Coilovers (possibly Zero1's), in perfect working order.

I bought them for my last 33, but before I could fit them I wrote off the car!

Now have a new 33, which came with coilovers already... I fitted and tried the cusco's and they are a perfect set. I'm just choosing to sell these and stick with the others.

I'm looking for about a grand as they are still in good nik, but am willing to hear offers.

I'm around the Chadstone area in Melbourne.

Any questions at all, feel free to ask!

Cheers, Jad.

(P.S. I hope that pic attached properly, otherwise just post a reply & i can send an mms via mobile! Cheers.)

I'm interested in getting some coilovers for my r33. My question is, are they legal? It is important for me that my car remain 100% legal.

If so, I might be interested.

Thanks mate.

Dreamr33... i guess it will depend where your from, as each state has its own laws anyway.

As for here in Victoria, I've never heard of anything against coil overs and I definately know a few good mates who have passed road worthies with coil overs in... so long as the cars not lower than the legal height limit, ya shouldnt have any problems.

In saying that, I aint no cop! If you want to be sure, maybe sus it out local enforcment.

Cheers.

how much are you looking for?

Hi Just_Rb...

After having a bit of a look around at what else is up for sale, and factoring in the decent condition, I'm hoping for around $1000.

But always open to hear offers. Hey, the worst that can happen is I just say no! haha.

Cheers.

P.S... make a nice xmas pressie for yourself hey! haha

could be very interested, do you know what model they are??? any leaks?? what kind of condition are they in?? would you have any idea on their history?

Hey.

I believe they are Cusco Zero1's. That's what the guy I bought them off thought, and my brief research here on the internet makes me agree with him.

Leaks... none at all. Previous owner thought they may have actually been reconditioned, he never actually used them himself but was reselling parts that he gets in from Japan I think. I just found them on ebay a few months back and used them in my current car for a month or two, until I recently taking them back out to sell.

If ya have a little flick thru my first post, you'll see I initially bought them for my old car.

The only reason I'm selling these Cusco's is because I dont particularly need anything too special, and I rather need the cash over performance these days. So I'm sticking with my other suspension, and selling the Cusco's to hopefully help me pay some stuff off!

Anything else I can answer... just let me know mate!

Cheers.

not a problem, im relocating to melbourne in the next day so i will contact you next week when i get up and running and get everything with my house sorted. Will be very interested in taking these off your hands!

    • Yeah, plenty of air flow, there is a dedicated path that feeds the air in to the OEM intake tube behind the bumper As for a "tangible effect", maybe, but getting the pod/intake air out of the hot engine bay is worth it psychologically to me, even if it gives no performance difference, so the tangible effect in my Lizard brain saysss yessss  In the end, to me a tangible effect isn't always about performance, sometimes it a sound or a look, or even a...... feeling  Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga
    • yeah first and reverse is where you will find clutch release issues (whether hydraulic or mechanical) because the difference in revs required is the highest there; particularly changing down from 2nd to 1st when still moving. To be clearer though, it is possible that the clutch release bearing is the wrong height. This is less likely than a hydraulic issue but it is not unheard of when you are mixing and matching
    • Quite right, if you make it to that pension you deserve every cent
    • Hi all, Restoring r33 series 1 rb25det. All the heater hoses were on their way out, have replaced them and put it all back together. After testing I noticed a small leak from behind the head on the actual metal water line to the turbo when cars warm. I tried running a longer hose over it but it kept leaking...   I am about to take the (stock) manifold off again😔 to change the water line does any one have any lines they recommend? I was looking at Aeroflow Turbo Oil & Water Line Set but not sure what everyone else recommends. Car is completely stock but want to upgrade turbo eventually. it looks like ill have to disconnect a lot just to replace these lines so if there's anything else recommended to do please let me know. Thank you in advance!
    • From memory, on the R33 GTSt at least, while everyone says "It's not adjustable", I found when I changed clutches in mine, it just needed a small adjustment on the rod length. But be very wary here, as you could end up trying to push the pushrod in the master too far, or blowing out the slave.   Most likely though, if the master/slave isn't bypassing internally or leaking out, then the throw out is the wrong height compared to the fingers on the clutch, so when it moves to disengage the clutch, it isn't 100% disengaged. You can check part of this out too by jacking the car up, having the engine running, put your foot on the clutch and try to engage 1st gear. If it goes in pretty easy (Compared to the ground) and/or the wheels start turning a fair bit and it takes a bit too much brake pedal to bring them back to a stop, this is likely the issue.  I'm not sure if you can adjust the height of the forks etc in these though, it's been that long since I've touched any RB gearbox.
