Ok guys i know I'm probably gonna get flamed for this but I've searched and havn't been able to find a straight answer..

I finally got sick of the Pioneer headunit which came in the Stagea which was in Japanese and CD player didn't work. So for Christmas my misses said she would buy me a new headunit so I took the risk and purchased a cheap Eonon E1012 DVD head unit which i got around to installing today and seems to work fine and for a close to $300 if i get 12months out of it I'm not complaining.

Radio is able to pickup stations fine but as soon as i start driving it drops in and out or has interfearance. All wires are wired up ok except for a blue wire which has a tag that says something about antenna on it. Is this wire ok to connect to the amp control wire on the headunit? Does it require a fuse for safety of doing damage to my headunit or should i connect it to something else?

where did you get this from? i have been looking for cheap touch screen h/u for a while... as for the blue antenna wire, i wired it up to the antenna amp, the radio reception was 100x better, altho i have only one of the two working at the moment.

Got it off eBay mate.. so you wired the blue wire up to the aeropro antenna amp?

Just went and pulled the headunit back out and i have a AERPRO FM Expander which connects back the the loom with the yellow/black wire. From the AERPRO FM Expander i have a red wire which connects to the antenna wire on the back of my headunit.

The wire which connects to nothing is a blue wire with two connecters off it that has a tag that says something along the lines of:

System control (Male Connector)

Auto Antenna (Female Connector)

Now should i snip the female connecter off and hard wire it to my Amp remote wire on my headunit? Will these fix my reception issues?

Think i might have just fixed it...

I tried connecting the Amp remote wire to the blue wire to see if it would power up the antenna and improve reception but no difference..

Then i noticed i have an adapter that the Japanese 2 prong aerial connects to which converts to the normal single prong that goes in the FM Expander...

At the moment I'm at work and the car is parked in a underground multilevel car park... I turned the headunit on running through the FM Expander still.. no reception... removed the adapter from the FM Expander and plugged it directly into the back of the headunit.. turned it back on and BINGO! Nearly perfect reception.. Its still not 100% but thats most likely due to all the concrete being in the underground parking.. Will see how its goes on the way home..

    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
    • Yeah, shame. Maybe  driver's carpet is available 🙏. I am waiting for both amayama and nangun to confirm.
