A case was thrown out of court not all that long ago from the hoon laws so the person did not lose his licence as well as have his car impounded. There is a loop hole.

Read the Aust. constitution or PM me and I will tell you how to get around it. Don't really want to go posting it here :P

Sorry r32 chick nothing to hide!

Dan as wat i got,

basically it is against the Australian Constitution to penalise someone for the same crime twice eg. you robbed the shop, they can't sentence you twice for robbing that shop once.

It is the same with the hoon law, if your car has already been confiscated before going to court, you have already been sentenced. The police played judge, jury and executioner. Word it well and get the exact codes etc. for it from the Australian Constitution and tell the judge he can't take your licence basically as you have already had your car taken therefore served your sentence.

A case was thrown out last year based on exactly this.

I don't know the exact codes but if you ever got busted it could save your licence!

I find the easiest way not to get hoon lawed is to not break the law.. seriously how hard is it? If you get caught doing 20/30+ over the speed limit then you have to take responsibility for your actions, not get all up in arms about how you've been hard done by. Sure there may be exceptions and labeling a certain demographic 'hoons' whilst older drivers escape yellow stickers and biased media articles isn't right, the majority of people here know right from wrong, so it really seems like a non-issue to me.

Why is every one so worried about these laws? Very similar to the uproar caused by people getting busted for drugs etc at summerdayze then complaining the police presence was over the top. The only people complaining about the police are the ones carrying!

beats worrying about lung disease.

There is the potential to get reamed for something you didn't do just because you fit a certain demographic. THAT is what people are up in arms about.

+1

would you like to be pulled over and the cop says

Sorry you got a import i need to check your car ( hoon) and gives you a yellow for doing nothing ?

Thats the other side

Fair enough, that's the exception I was talking about then. I've never been treated unfairly by the police so I haven't had to worry about it. I still believe there's a reason why people get stickered for 'no reason', much like some people seem to have a lot of accidents that aren't their fault.

Hey Dan, it was a friends son. This guy knows the Australian Constitution off the top of his head, nothing can go against it. The only way to change the constitution is through a bill, I am pretty certain they will never change that one.

Even Local Councils are against the Constitution, said friend doesn't pay and hasn't paid rates for years. Yes the Council took him to court, he said his case and said that should they pursue it he will make it very public. They dropped it. I can go on for ages about it, remind me next time I see ya.

This guy is even a retired police officer, a very smart man.

    • I don't think the shuffle can damage the turbos. It only happens at low shaft speeds and loads. It's just annoying (to some people - others are tickled by the effect) and it quite possibly reduces spool performance a little bit.
    • Oh dear. The panel beating needs to be done before the filler work. Do you have a photo of the dent before you started? Hard enough to not flex and only hit the high spots?  What do you mean it was just temporary?
    • Can u check this way it works for power supply?
    • These coils draw 10amps that what i read online
    • I appreciate the detailed explanation, think I understand now. I spent the better part of last night reading what I could about shuffle and potential solutions. I had replaced the OEM twin turbo pipe with an alternate Y pipe that is separated further away from the turbo. The current one is from HKS and I had a previous pipe that was separated even further away, both have shuffle. I had heard that a divider can be welded in to the OEM pipe to remove turbulence, and figure that aftermarket pipes that are more separated would achieve the same thing. From what I read, most people with -10 turbos get shuffle due to their size, though it's a bit less common with -5s on a standard RB26. I think Nismoid mentioned somewhere it's because OEM recirculation piping is common in Australia with -5 cars. It seems that the recommendation tends to vary between a few options, which I've ordered in what I think is most feasible for me:  1. Retune the MAP or boost controller to try to eliminate shuffle 2. Install OEM recirculation piping 3. Something called a 'balance pipe' welded onto the exhaust manifolds. I don't know if kits for this are available, seems like pure fabrication work 4. simply go single turbo My current layout is as follows: Garrett 2860 -5s HKS Racing Suction intake MAF delete pipes HKS racing chamber intake piping hard intercooler piping,  ARC intercooler HKS SSQV BOV and pipe Haltech 2500 elite ECU and boost solenoid/controller HPI dump pipes OEM exhaust manifolds HKS VCAM step 1 and supporting head modifications Built 2.6 bottom end All OEM recirculation piping was removed, relevant areas sealed off I'll keep an eye out for any alternative solutions but can get started with this.  Only other question is, does shuffle harm the turbo (or anything else)? It seems like some people say your turbo shafts will explode because of the opposing forces after a while and others say they just live with it and adjust their pedal foot accordingly.
