hmm, do they send u a picture along with the fine? and which angle of the car do they take a pic of, im assuming front/front corner, but my P plate fell off at the back so i might be able to work with something. im hoping it was under 29km's and my speedo is slightly out or something, but im preparing for a $700 fine and lots of points, just hope i dont lose my licence.

Yes they do send a photo.

Not sure how it is nowadays but back in the day (when I was 18ish), I got flashed in an unregistered car.. which they didn't pick up on.. all I got was a speeding fine lol

hey man stick to the speed limit. im a red p plater and most of the time i stick to the speed limit even if it seems slow, sometimes i go ten over but thats from take off.

if a car is tail gating you just keep left and it will eventually get pissed off and overtake. its better than some red p plater speeding off in his skyline, cos people might take your no. plates down and report you for hooning or some stupid thing like that.

i try not to give p platers a bad name so i try to stick to the rules even stupid ones.

happy safe driving, and unlucky for the fine.

i got flashed at night all they got was the front plate and left side of car.. its black and white photo so it would be hard to make out who is driving.. but if u got flashed day time it might show u in the pic see if ur mates can take the fall and get there points so ur in the clear ..

geez bruv,

think u could expect heavy fine 500++ and like 6 points, but u culd get lucky!!

hehe i got lucky few months bak.. 8clicks ova "mayb my bigg rims helped the over speed haha" n yeah got $50 no points on dbl demit w/e!

Man 70 on that road is straight dumb, it used to be 90 then they rebuilt it made it dual lane installed new lights.... and dropped the speed limit to 70. I got done for 98 there and it was 300 and 3 points, which might i point out was 2am on a Tuesday night with nooone else around, you'd have to wonder if the police officers would of had something better to do.

hhhmmmm new laws say 40+ = careless/reckless driving

coz your a p plater, it'll be a court summons and automatic loss of license...

yes i know, its f*kd, it happenening to me right now... cept i wasnt speeding got done for careless(being a muppet on road)

reckless driving is 45km/h over the limit (or doing something stupid like burnouts).

if you are doing between 29-40km/h over it is $700 and 5 points during a normal period.

You won't lose your licence, but obviously with the way you're driving it won't take long. Forget about retards tailing you, they get bored if you don't play back.

radar detectors are only useful if you're going maybe 10-20km/h over the limit as anything more and chances are you will get done before you have the chance to slow down enough.

And NEVER ever let your folks/friends take the fall for the ticket. If they find out you will be charged with perverting the course of justice (and so will your friend) and would likely receive a term of imprisonment. I had a client use his dad to take the fall for a multanova ticket, they found out, 12 months suspended term, and a lady got someone else to take the fall for a minor car accident, 12 months immediate term.

It's not worth it. Follow the road rules, go to track days with SAUWA and don't be one of those tools on Today Tonight making us look bad.

Nah man you wont loose your driver's licence, you will just have a whopping fine and demerit points.

Just slow down a little speeding aint worth it!

I've been flashed once since i've had my P-plates; doing 9km/h over the limit in a 70km/h zone, and that was a $75 fine and 0 demerit points....

Fines all together just suck ass so just slow down a little and try to avoid getting them!

got the fine today, says i was going 94 in a 70 zone, so thats 24 over i got put in the 20-29km/h category, $300 fine and 3 points, i was expecting a $500-$700 so im pretty relieved, it actualy looks like im laughing and staring at the camera hahaha but it must just be the dark pic coz i remember the flash getting me in the corner of my eye. oh and my radar retector saved my ass in mirrabooka the other day, it was going off so i was looking round for the camera, ended up seeing it on the other side of the road as i passed it, phew.

no offence James but your attitude towards driving on WA roads doesn't really help your image in deserving to use the roads

praising your Radar Detector, talking sh*t about the other cars on the roads that you made to sound like super slow cars ie. Excel's and Lancer's and assuming that everyone in the left hand lane is doing 80km/h - 90km/h is absurd

as i mentioned before dude, i don't want to offend you but you need to realise that possessing a license is a privilege and that the road isn't a place to zoom around in your car while always having an eye out for Radars

we all know that these turbo cars are capable of reaching speeds faster than others but it doesn't mean you can't follow the speed limit, and if you're running late, leave where you're going from earlier... just my2c mate

P.S: i am no saint on the road, but sometimes it takes a lot for someone to see this, just giving you a heads up... usually takes P Platers losing their licenses before they see that it's too late

Andrew

i know wat ur trying to say, but just coz i stated i did some stupid things in my car doesnt mean i drive like that all the time, if i had told u about all the times ive driven like an angel id fill up these forums. i may b the only 1 admitting i do stupid stuff on the road, but over 50% of the modified cars ive been with on the road try and race me, or atleast race me when i give it a little squirt infront of them, actualy its probaly about 80%. and the comment about the radar detector, if anything i would have been going less then 5k's over coz i was overtaking a car, but when i drive past speed cameras/cops i like to brake so im going 5-10k's under the limit just incase i get done doing a 1 or 2 kays over or something like that

Speeding fines are basically just a form of " Stupid Tax ".

You can test yourself in a few basic ways;

* Have you been to the hospital for eating a packet of desicant in a new DVD box that says " Do not eat "?

* You know the published speed limit / read the sign but, speed anyway and find yourself blaming someone else, like the police, the car, your hair cut, the catholic church or your mum.

* You own a radar detector for one of two reasons ; a) you want to detect people trying to control your mind with a radar b) you want to break the law and not get caught.

In history the Stupid are always taxed because the Stupid tax themselves.

" Boo hoo, that road used to be 90km/h and now it's 70km/h it's not fair so I'll keep doing 90km/h and cry when I get fined" ... Hey buddy don't eat that thing, it says 'do not eat'......

Thanks for paying extra tax Stupid, now we can get another Bell Tower / Ferris Wheel :D

Gold!!!!!

If you are going to speed (especially on p-plates with sweet f all experience on the road) and take the associated risk of being fined or causing an accident please don't whinge on these forums. You will get no sympathy from any of us. Have a nice day :D

    • @Kapr Haha yeah thats the one. I missed that you had a built up engine, I wouldn't want to run it on there either then. It was good in my situation just to replace the original turbo on a stock engine. @MBS206Yep definitely not a replacement for anything name brand
    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...

    • It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about. Reliability of everything in a 34 drops MASSIVELY above the 300kw mark. Keeping everything going great at beyond that value will cost ten times the $. Clutches become shit, gearboxes (and engines/bottom ends) become consumable, traction becomes crap. The good news is looking legalish/actually being legal is slighly under the 300kw mark. I would make the assumption you want to ditch the stock plenum too and want to go a front facing unit of some description due to the cross flow. Do the bends on a return flow hurt? Not really. A couple of bends do make a difference but not nearly as much in a forced induction situation. Add 1psi of boost to overcome it. Nobody has ever gone and done a track session monitoring IAT then done a different session on a different intercooler and monitored IAT to see the difference here. All of the benefits here are likely in the "My engine is a forged consumable that I drive once a year because it needs a rebuild every year which takes 9 months of the year to complete" territory. It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about with this car.
    • By "reverse flow", do you mean "return flow"? Being the IC having a return pipe back behind the bumper reo, or similar? If so... I am currently making ~250 rwkW on a Neo at ~17-18 psi. With a return flow. There's nothing to indicate that it is costing me a lot of power at this level, and I would be surprised if I could not push it harder. True, I have not measured pressure drop across it or IAT changes, but the car does not seem upset about it in any way. I won't be bothering to look into it unless it starts giving trouble or doesn't respond to boost increases when I next put it on the dyno. FWIW, it was tuned with the boost controller off, so achieving ~15-16 psi on the wastegate spring alone, and it is noticeably quicker with the boost controller on and yielding a couple of extra pounds. Hence why I think it is doing OK. So, no, I would not arbitrarily say that return flows are restrictive. Yes, they are certainly restrictive if you're aiming for higher power levels. But I also think that the happy place for a street car is <300 rwkW anyway, so I'm not going to be aiming for power levels that would require me to change the inlet pipework. My car looks very stock, even though everything is different. The turbo and inlet pipes all look stock and run in the stock locations, The airbox looks stock (apart from the inlet being opened up). The turbo looks stock, because it's in the stock location, is the stock housings and can't really be seen anyway. It makes enough power to be good to drive, but won't raise eyebrows if I ever f**k up enough for the cops to lift the bonnet.
