Hi guys,

Quick Q, Just sold the skyline, and thinkin of buyin a NSW RX7 FD and registering in VIC, and its got a few mods as above,

Cat back exhaust, a CF intake pipe thingo, aftermarket SMIC, and power fc.

Do/should i need to take these all off before getting RWC? hopefully i'll be getting the stock parts but unsure atm..

i guess taking off the hand controller should be enough for the PFC.. but all the other bits?

i guess it depends on the place, but do most RWC places ping u for mods?

SMIC is fine as long as it doesn't have a pod filter as well. One induction mod, however, you'd be hard pressed to find a mechanic that knows enough to not pass it.

Power FC, should be able to go under the radar also.

As for the induction pipe, you'd have to have a pretty cluey mechanic to pick you up on it.

Exhaust should be fine as long it's not stupidly loud.

All the best.

^^ pretty much on the money.

Some do actually check for ECU, but most run of the mill RWC places simply will not be up with every model and so on so they don't go searching for it so ensure its behind the kick panel and you'll be perfectly ok in that way.

But ye, a super loud exhaust maybe, sometimes they will pick bonnets and so on which again is fair enough given their size/obviousness

So anyone know of a good shop you've had good experience with for RWC around the abbotsford area?

    • Had a chat to Tony Mamo - he advised that looking at the graph's shape (regardless of number translation) it shouldn't be levelling off like that up top. He said it looks like the car is running a restrictor plate or something of that nature. Luckily the last dyno pull on E85 was saved to the PC - So I did a quick trace of Barometric KPA vs Intake manifold pressure, and lo and behold I see a copy of the 'waves' I was seeing on the dyno: I'm not entirely sure how to go about addressing this. It may be worth sacrificing IAT to run a more direct intake for the motor. Though packaging this could be flat out impossible given the constraints of the car. I should have removed the intake pipe to see if this made a difference but looking at this graph I now have something to potentially test in the future and think about.
    • Oh, I forgot too, all the multimedia stuff captured and sold through things like people playing Pokemon Go. Pokemon Go specifically, can actually be traced all the way back to a CIA investment company too. So yep, they're watching everything. Not to mention the new stuff where they've worked out how to use WiFi signals to be able to map occupants inside of a building. That one would be something that I see being more used in public/government buildings, as you need to understand the signals when the room has no one in it first. It's not as easy as Hollywood would like you to think it is.
    • Followed ☺️ Assuming those are NEO rods, then at least 400kW all day.
    • Lets keep this going , Spotted this very stock V35 in Penrith and also saw a nice R32 FLY past me on Castlereagh rd , sounded really good.
    • Great work! Give it a clean up with some Emery paper, and I'd run a thread die over the threads too to clean them up. It will make reinstall much easier, and also life easier for the next time it needs to come out.
