Thanks for the support of www.omegaxenon.com and his distributor in my country RPM Imports we are going to make a complete rebuild of our RB26 engine..... specs are :

WISECO pistons std

ARGO rods

ACL RACE bearings

ARP bolts

GREEDY head gasket

ATI s pulley

RC 1200cc injectors

GREEDY valves springs

FERREA Ti retainers and locks

FERREA +1mm valves

NISSAN complete gasket set

We will keep using the 264/9.1 Greedy cams, Jun oil pump, powerFC and BorgWarner 72mm turbo.

We our stock rods and pistons we manage to produce 640whp (4 wheels) @ 29lbs and 8,000rpm.....

how much do you think we could obtain now ?

Same turbo, cams etc...the only thing i can see thats going to produce more power is a fresher engine and the valve upgrade. The rest of the list is to make the engine more durable.

All the best with running new PB's with the new set-up.

Do you think that now we could increase the boost up to 40lbs and rev up to 9000 ?

what happened to the old engine?

float oem nissan valve 8500rpm all the way and brake one valve guide but everything else keep in excellent condition. I hope that now we could rev up to 9,000 because the dyno curve shows more hp on higher rpm.

I've got a broken valve guide on an RB26 head too. Which cylinder as it? Mine was cylinder, inlet valve, the last one out of the two.

Are the RC injectors genuine 1200cc in flow? I was looking at gettin them but I did hear reviews that RC Injectors are faulty, high flow injectors that dont seem to work all the time and dont flow their rated amounts + you get a mixed bag of injectors with all different rates from 600-1400cc when you order.

If you can up the boost then you will make more power. IF your peak power is at 8000 - revvin to 9000 is not going to net you more power obviously.

If anything you may be able to make peak power sooner and thus decrease your max RPM.

yes, same inlet valve. :P

RC injectors are fine a lot 2JZ with over 1000whp with no problem from my reading.

the Borg Warner 72 turbo is more efficient at 35psi than 29psi.

anyway we know that 640whp @ 29psi it was not correct we´ve using old stock coils and always an small missfire. now we have updrage coils also.

to DiRTgarage

a) how much is a decent whp on a single 72mm turbo with a 2,600cc engine at 29psi ?

b) do you think it´s crazy up the boost to 40psi ?

    • Have you done the Ignition Sync Wizard in the AEM software?
    • Find out what RPM it was idling at with the IACV unplugged. It's very weird that the rpm didn't change at all, and then it stalled. When it stalls is it nearly like a switch off, like you've turned the engine off? Or is it more stutters and sputters and coughs to death over a few seconds? Or does the RPM just slowly keep going down and down? Have you done a test of trying to start it with the AFM unplugged? Does it still die?     If you Follow Josh's advice on using Nistune to check the voltages (which is a perfect method!) if you see anything out of wack voltage wise, THEN get the multimeter out and read the voltage directly at the sensor. If the two vary, then you're now looking for a wiring issue vs a sensor issue. So be aware, what the ECU sees, may not be what the sensor is actually saying too...
    • You very likely need to get it on a dyno and tune it. My assumption is, you've got an RB25DET tune in it, which has a different manifold, different injectors, and different cams as a minimum. What O2 sensor are you running?   When you say it runs extremely rich from idle all the way to redline, is this just free revving it you see that?
    • I seem to the be only person that is using a Haltech 2500 on an NA motor, I've installed a Bosch DBW throttle body to the OEM intake manifold and am having problems maintaining AFR even with the wideband o2.  It will run extremely rich at idle and up to redline, but under load it will go extremely lean in the 20s and i'm essentially having to rev it over 4k and feather the clutch to get it up to speed.  I've read a few other threads of about the butterfly, it seems removing the vacuum to it is supposed to have it remain open, i've noticed no difference under 4k with the vacuum line to it plugged.  I'm hoping someone here has had luck using the NA manifold with Haltech, and if they happen to have a tune for it.
    • I don't know any details, but I really wouldn't be surprised if they do it as a LHD only version, at least initially.
