On another note, goodluck mate!

;)

Thanks mate.

Yeah some ppl have no heart apparently

yes but he has a good point...

its not about heart...its about someones hard earned money.....

and its different if it was for family or friends...

not everyone is a charity organisation......

at the end of the day.... i in favour of his reply, because at the end of the day...its the owners risk...

and his responsibility if the car gets damaged etc..... it really isnt a cheap car...majority of people not only for this forum...but in society cannot afford one.

i have mentioned this post to a no# of friends and they think the same....

no offence to your needs or post...and congraulations on your wedding.....

Ok yeah i understand where your coming from. And yeah i, in a way completely agree. It is a risk.

But you take a risk everytime you drive your car.

That'd be like going to maccas to get a big mac, and saying to the counter person "You should be giving me money because i had to bring my car down here. I risked getting it damaged to get this burger"

it'd be a 30-40 minute drive...$200...easy money. And if something does happen...you've got money to fix it (bad joke...please do not think i'm serous in that comment)

man i would do this if i was in sydney and has a 34 gtr lol, in all seriousness its a great opportunity to show off ur ride that you love dearly i mean damn if u were so worried about any damages sell it and go buy a little 88 ford laser for $500 bcuz thats driving anything can happen, we buy cars to show them off and u cant be worried about what may or may not happen and u have to remember no such things as "accident's", if u do it and wana be a hoon and stack well then cmon thats ur fault he is not asking you to do burnouts or drift corners just a little cruise and have everyone look at ur car may be difficult with a commodore with ya's lol jokes, its also a good chance to make some new friends, be involved in something different, and have some nice free photos taken of ur car

good luck with the wedding bro

r33 ftw though :)

yes it is easy money...

but it will sux big time for the owner IF something does happen.

it is always a risk every time you take... ANY, car out of a drive way...

but like i said, its a pretty prestigious car... with an estimated 65,000 - 75,000$ price tag...... thats a BIG call dude...

can you IMAGINE renting one?? (if there are any places that do hire..and beleive me ive asked his years ago and nobody offered this car)

it depends on how you see it...i think the $200 is not enough at all...regardless of the hospitality you get.

insurance premiums are very expensive...and the rarity of the car.....

ive not heard of anyone rent out imports..even EVOs or STIs....... let alone a GT-R

any good luck though

There's another R34 GT-R owned by a pharmacist friend of mine. He only last week had his front lip sanded & painted at my panelbeater.

Victor may have retired from chemist duties, so I'll chase him up at his old chemist at Emu Plains on 11/03 Nick

Cheers,

Tez

Aw shucks! Not really... I still pick my nose in ma sleep lol.

It'll be hard to get a car on a Wednesday I expect.

Victor's car is Mushroom Silver.

Ron's is black and It'd be more desirable to get a loan of him/his.

We'll wait and see.

Cheers, T

The amount of times that you've helped out fellow SAUers with your knowledge coming out in your posts has not gone unnoticed Jamie!!! :3some:

It doesn't take too much effort for helpers like you to keep the teamship going which makes for a strong forum. :):(:)

Just a bit of LUV.:banana::banana:

I seriously dont know what the big fuss is about, is not like he is driving your car or taking possession of it. I drive my R34 GTR V2 every day, i bought the car to drive it and i let insurance take care the rest.

At the end of the day, is a faking car. I try to aviod any possible chance getting it damage, if i need to drive it to Redfern whatever, i still drive it there.

Unfortunally Nick, i just sold my GTR. I see if i can borrow my mates one or if you want a 300kw STI let me know.

Hey mate,

STI is probably no good...if you can ask your mate about his GTR tho that would be awesome!

Thanks heaps!!

  • 2 weeks later...

Hey guys,

Come on someone else has to be keen? Surely. I know its a wednesday, but come on! Unless you're on a stupidly good paying job (which if you own a 34 GTR you probably are) - its quick easy money...

pretty please????

    • I wanted to try and preserve the front bumper as long as possible, they're not cheap and are made to order in Japan. Taking inspiration from my previous K11 Micra build where I made an undertray for the Impul bumper, I did the same for this BN Sports bumper but a little slimmed down.  This time round I only made a 'skid plate' (if that's the correct wording/term) for just the bumper surface area, the Micra version covered the gap like an undertray. Starting off with a sheet of mild steel approx. 0.9mm thick 4ft x 2ft in size. I traced around the bumper, cut it out and cleaned the edges. Luckily I was able to get two halves from one piece of metal In the video I installed it as is, but I've since then I've removed it to spray and add a rubber edging trim. The rubber trim is suitable for 1-2mm and it's a really nice tight fit. The bolts had to be loosened due to the plates being too tight against the bumper, the trim wouldn't push on I used some stainless M6 flat headed bolts for a flusher finish (rather than hex heads poking down), I believe this style fastener is used for furniture too incase you struggle to source some. The corner's are a little wider, but this may be an advantage incase I get close to bumping it  The front grill got some attention, finally getting round to repairing it. Upon removal one fixing pulled itself out of the plastic frame, one side is M8 that fixes inside of the frame, where as the other side is M5. Not knowing I could get replacements, I cut down an M8 bolt, threaded it inside the frame along with a decent amount of JB Weld.  The mesh was replaced to match the bumper. One hole on the bonnet/hood had to be drilled out to 8mm to accommodate the new stud, once the glue had set it could be refitted. I think the reason the grill was double meshed was to hide the horn/bonnet latch (which makes sense) but I much prefer it matching the bumper Bumper refitted and it's looking much better IMO The Youtube video can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVZP35io9MA
    • The video for the servicing and fuel filter change can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLJ65pmQt44 One of the main jobs I wanted to do before the car officially went on the road, was to remove the awful looking blue silicone hoses. There's nothing wrong with having coloured silicone hoses, but I realise as I'm getting older I prefer monotone engine bays with a splash of colour on the engine cover(s). I cover this in a lot more detail in the Youtube video, so unfortunately there's limited photos of the process. The intercooler, upper radiator, boost vacuum and upper breather hoses were all changed to black silicone with mikalor clamps. The only blue left is a blanking cap at the back of the inlet manifold and the GReddy pulleys (which will be replaced for stock when the cambelt gets replaced) While the intercooler pipes were off I gave them a quick clean/polish too A before photo I do have a replacement air filter on its way. Fuse box covers were painted blue, they're now satin black Another job on the list while the bumper was off, is to add some mesh https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/54737966256_99b28bfa30_c.jpg[/img] I was hoping to use some thin wire to secure it, but it seems I've misplaced it and the wire I had was too thick to twist easily. I ended up using cable ties for the time being https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/54737131882_c2b7989dcc_c.jpg[/img] Was pleasant to see this https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/54737131627_8b2aab13b3_c.jpg[/img] The last thing to do was to fix the front grill and re-mesh that to match but I ran out of time The Youtube video can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4FsF6tgizE&t=23s
