R32 Gtr Drivetrain On Its Way Out :(

hey all,

my gearbox and diff are on their way out. with recently upgrading with some power mods i dont want to blow my gearbox up.

I dont want to pay for a brand new G/box and ive heard reconditioning them can be just as expensive, so ill probably go with a 33 GTR box and get it converted from push to pull.

with my diff though i'm unsure of what to do?

will a 33 GTR diff fit? can i get it reconditioned?

i dont want to replace my old box and diff with 2nd hand 32 gtr parts as they are as old as mine and almost all hammered lol

diffs can be rebuilt easily enough, my gtr rear diff has new bearings and seals, along with nismo clutch packs. My g box was also noisy but i just slapped in another gtr box, its a 32 box and took the chance, at 700 bucks they are cheap and give it a go.

My rear diff is fine still has a slight whine at around 100 km/h, but the problem is its a worn gear set if it was new be better but i dont want to buy new gears prob cost more then half the car haha. Also depends what backlash you put in it, running it a bit looser lets more oil in for long life, but too much is detrimental etc.

how much did it cost you to rebuild your diff?

bearings (4) i got from bearing supplier i think was around 250, then 250 to rebuild it from a diff guy i know. The nismo clutch packs was 230 i think, you need to ring award diff and gearbox in sydney for that.

i can't find an rb20 box for less than $650 aghhhhhhhh!!
