yo yo yo

just got my two quotes,

it seems that the spacesaver saved my boot from caving in further - so the thing is f**ked

first guy said 6-8k for the repair,

and the 2nd guy said around 8k - possibly needing a rear cut..

fuuuuuuuuck!

Get old mate to just buy you another car

Aslong as you dont install some hectic chromies with perfect narrowbody fitment we should be sweet.

Track car ftw :) Wish I could afford another one. Best I can afford atm is a 31 or something. We'll see in december :P

1. I don't like chromies.

2. I hate people that put body kits on there car and they can't lower it where the wheels are in the guard, hence buying a Nismo kit for it that is the same height as the stock kit :P

And 31's are awesome! (I use to have one)

8k is only 2/3 of the value of the car so you might get it repaired. If not just hope they give you the whole 12k n buy another one

jeez how annoying.. didnt think it was that bad though, isnt $8k a little overpriced?

basicaly what you need is a rear bar, a boot lid and straightening out the rear end..

now the first two items you can get for less than $1k?

yo wolf!

man wat we didnt see the other night is that the whole boot floor as crumpled..

the 8k was only an estimate - we'll find out more in the next few dayss..

It'll be cheap if you source it yourself definately but if you're letting someone else do the job its an entirely different story. First they will get all brand new geniune parts, second mark up 30% 40% (just look at my charge rate at work... 135/hr to client)? And third, their time/contacts. These would make your 2-3k job easily 5-7k. But I do agree 8 seems unreasonable.

If I were you... try to get the full 12k and save the rest up and get a GTR ! I pack my lunch/cook dinner for more than a yr to get mine =P

brandon you car is amazing - but its 4wd!

im a man of my rwd hahaha

ill straight swap you though :P

Its a good deal Brandon. Tristans car does epic skids :P

I dont think 8k is unreasonable. It would be a fair amount of work to straighten up the car properly and things will always come up which are unexpected. Its probably a 6k job but the guy has given himself a buffer.

PS: GTR + RWD Mode?...

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
