Chicks love scars martin, just remove the stiches yourself at work tomorrow.....

Skins, put me down for a DAMBUSTER TOUR!!! im keen!

John:

The VG will fit in, has been done before on a 32, the only big problem will be a custom/modified sump to retain the 4WD system, from memory the VG30 is similar in electronics to the rb25's so wiring wise it won't be too much of a problem, Kev can make a plug and play loom up for cheap money!

Gearbox, the vg30 bellhouse bolts onto the rb25det box so if the gts-4 box is a same bolt pattern as that it will bolt straight up. VG is possible, will just be more expensive.

VQ's to retain the 4wd will need alot of work, custom bellhouse for one, if you want to drop the 4wd then buy a vq35 6 speed, only $2700 or so from option 1. VH's need custom bellhouse unless your a girly man and want an auto track car, which if thats the case, sell and buy a HSV.

Anythings possible, just cash involved, cheapest option and best bang for buck, RB25DET conversion with the 4WD system, swap sumps, modified wiring loom and away you go.

Or cheaper again? RB25 turbo on the 20, front mount and boost controller

pfftf mt ommaney

tommorrow night at baskins n robins at indooroopilly along moggil road usual meet up @7.30 till late

he meant to say CHAPEL HILL. It's just past the Lexus dealership on Moggill Road. Get there early to secure a chair!!

hahaa i know where it is, i dont live under a rock.

mind u uni does kill all social life

righty dokie then! less info next time

technically that area is boarder line chappel hill/kenmore/indooroopilly

i like to choose the better of them and have a suburb where people cant really say it

it's not border line jack and or shit. The official boundary for Indooroopilly finishes on the western corner of Rennies Rd. Just because your house is Indooroopilly doesn't mean shit ;) Moggill Rd moves south west at that point and crosses back through the border putting your street (from the first HOUSE) in Indooroopilly.

Don't argue directions with the ex cabbie bitch :P

    • If you take the top half of the intake off you can unbolt the flap off the shaft and leave the shaft in there blocking the hole. Then you can remove the little vacuum canister off from under the manifold and get a spare vacuum line to run to the ECU. I can take some photos of it later. Probably best to get the vacuum source to the ECU sorted first though. Mine all worked mint with the base map from the GTT an I've pretty much let the closed loop sort the fueling and took 1 degree out of the whole timing map.
    • This IS something you also have to configure in Haltech (or at least I did in the past when going from onboard-to-ECU map sensor and an external MAP sensor in haltech land).
    • I'm hoping it's something as simple as the ECU is looking for an external MAP sensor, but he is trying to use the onboard MAP sensor.
    • You won't need to do that if your happy to learn to tune it yourself. You 100% do not need to do that. It is not part of the learning process. It's not like driving on track and 'finding the limit by stepping over the limit'. You should not ever accidently blow up an engine and you should have setup the ECU's engine protection to save you from yourself while you are learning anyway. Plenty of us have tuned their own cars, myself included. We still come here for advice/guidance/new ideas etc.  What have you been doing so far to learn how to tune?
    • Put the ECU's MAP line in your mouth. Blow as hard as you can. You should be able to see about 10 kPa, maybe 15 kPa positive pressure. Suck on it. You should be able to generate a decent vacuum to about the same level also. Note that this is only ~2 psi either way. If the MAP is reading -5 psi all the time, ignition on, engine running or not, driving around or not, then it is severely f**ked. Also, you SHOULD NOT BE DRIVING IT WITHOUT A LOAD REFERENCE. You will break the engine. Badly.
