attn Miso: Are you replacing all your brakes mang or just the fronts? What are you doing with the old ones?

Just the fronts at the moment. Don't have any bigger calipers/rotors for the back yet.

Was thinking of selling the old set. You looking for some brakes for project alfa?

I am sure we can work something out in exchange for your assistance to fit the upgraded brakes, and maybe a upper thigh deep tissue massage

Yeah I'm thinking I might try and fit some 32 brakes to the alfa. Should stop it on a dime.

Sounds like fun :D

Just let me know when you got time.

When we get them off, you can just keep them.

You sir, are an extremely generous bosni-serbo-croat!

I shall have to at least buy you a carton of *insert preferred beverage here*

On a similar awesome note, I just found the old rears off my car, so that will make a nice semi-matching set, assuming I can find suitable rotors for the rear....

As to time, yeah well that's the issue...

Sat morning I think I'm out, Saturday arvo is a possibility, pending what everyone else is doing.

Sunday I'm probably out - although if that's the time that suits everyone I think I can make it work.

Next weekend is good, but Dan will be away, and his expertise will be useful when doing brakes. We could try to tackle them without him but? Le mans 24 hour is on too, always fun to have something to watch while mechanicalising

Thoughts?

Jason, what still needs doing on your car? You got those boost fittings sorted yet?

No probs, next sat arvo is free. Probably suits me best, as there is no footy in Bris for me to go and watch, and have no games on.

The weekend after is ok, but I am on call for work, so might have to spend a bit of time on the phone.

We can work out a carton of something, and you can assist me in drinking it.

That's excellent news, especially since the latest bp oil leak in the gulf of mexico. little baby seals are thanking you now for ridding them of excess oil.

One of the many services myself and my car provide.

I should get a medal for it

That sucks dude... any idea why?

Also does anyone have a rear set of shocks for a 32 GTS-T? Stock or aftermarket...

I may be able to get my hands on some stocker 33 ones. Would that help?

Mechanical issues fall outside my area of expertise.

+1

I was just after the technical terms sheesh

Jason's blown a turbo seal from his mega super infinity boosto!

Is that technical ?

That would be my guess also, but its just a guess.

I was just after the technical terms sheesh

The flux capacitor has deteriorated causing a feedback interference loop with the syncromesh gear ionisation device, resulting in dilution of the mechanical lubrication fluid, causing it to evaporate in the combustion chamber and/or bypass the piston sealing devices.

Is that technical ?

Define technical

dont fit.

That's what she said

Now THAT is technical

It's like... putting too much air in a balloon... and... something bad happens!

    • @GTSBoy This method was able to get readings of -10 to -2, so it looks like its monitoring.  Now I need to figure out why the vacuum on the line provided isn't alternating with manifold pressure.  I went with 2 lines that an RB25 tuner recommended but I'll get a longer hose and try directly off the back of the manifold.  He may have been used to OEM intake setups while I have a DBW setup that removed the MAF and IACV.
    • I work at a car detailing and tinting shop called Quark which gets all manner of German cars in usually (mainly due to a contract with Mercedes Benz Kita Osaka, BMW Nishinomiya and others) but every once in a while something special comes in, like a fully restored 1972 HS30 Nissan Fairlady 240ZG... The shop owner had immediately started applying film to the windows as soon as it was in the shop so the interior was completely covered in towels and plastic sheets. But I could get a few photos of the engine bay which was restored like new. Such an amazing car to see in pristine condition in Japan these days.
    • Was going to say the car pulls up nicely everywhere, especially going into that last long right hander before the main straight. Looks like a lot of fun.
    • Hey Dave, welcome aboard! Good to see another soon-to-be Stagea owner here. The wagons are awesome — plenty of space, still got that Skyline DNA, and loads of potential if you’re into mods. Definitely post up pics when you get it, everyone here loves seeing new builds. What model/year are you looking at?
