Go!

Also Josh did you know we are both in the top 40 posters on this site...so much wasted youth whoring :( lol

I had an unmarked car following me... for AGES. I didn't know if he was waiting for me to stuff up or what, so I just made sure to be extra careful, no zingenator carry on and all that sort of business.

Anyway, I hit Grandard Rd, and at the same time I'm going through the speed van spot, so does a BMW who is absolutely fanging it. Must have been doing at least 90 in a 60 zone... and I'm thinking "oh come on! quit following me and go get him"... but then I thought, maybe because the speed camera flashed there's nothing more he can do about it now.

Well, out of the side street comes ANOTHER cop car, and pulls ME over. The D car pulls up too, I'm assuming to join in on the defect fun. The uniform cop comes up to my window and asks for my licence and is it my car and all that, and I handed it over, yes sir, no sir, etc. THEN the uni tells me "we just clocked you doing 87 through a 60 zone.

"BULLSHIT! That was the Beemer!"

"Yeah, yeah, like we never hear that it was someone else from you import hoons"

"Huh?! Are you blind? I mean shit, that BMW was flying, but it wasn't going faster than the speed of light! AND IT WAS BLACK!! MY CAR IS NOT BLACK! How can you not tell the difference between a black car and a red car and see which is going faster?!"

The plain clothes boy gets out of his car at this stage obviously wondering what all the screaming and fuck yous are about. And asks the Uni what's going on.

"We just clocked this guy doing 87 in a 60 zone, and he's trying to blame it on someone else"

"Oh? Really? Who's he trying to blame it on? The guy in the BMW that I was about to pull up who was doing 87? Or someone else?

"What?"

"The BMW was the one speeding, this guy was doing the speed limit. I've been following him since Mt Ommaney and he hasn't set a foot wrong."

"..but... the radar... and..."

"The van over there even flashed when the BMW went past and overtook the two of us... how did you miss it?"

At this point the plain clothes takes my licence from the other bloke, hands it to me, and says "Off ya go mate. I'll sort this one out."

I'm just like :P:huh::O and GTF outta there!

I wonder if uni boy is gonna wind up back in basic training?

awesome story. at least the plainclothes wasn't a f**ktard

edit: you should have taken the uniform's badge number and made a complaint. general incompetance and assuming you're a hoon for driving an import. much lols could have ensued.

I'd love to JUST ONCE have a normal police encounter!

I'd love to just once have a police encounter like that one. :P

farken funny. luckily you were being tailed by the undercover, or most likely you would have either been fined for speeding, or failing that, he may have defected you for something because he was unable to make the speeding stick

All of mine are like that. It's frigging ridiculous. I don't get pulled over often... but when I do it's always something epic like that.

I know! It took a long time for my sphincter to get back to it's regular tension :P

thats because you're one of them import hoons with hektik fitment bro.

I've not been pulled over since that f*ckwit who got me for 'faulty' high beams.

You must have been pulled over on average once a week since then :P

haha not quite.

One was my pulled over 3 times from stafford to eagle farm adventure - so that in itself is an epic encounter.

The other was because I turned off when you went straight ahead, and according to Mr Plod I didn't indicate. That was would have been normal if they didn't hunt me down and try to trap me in a housing estate. I swear he thought I was trying to do a Gone In Sixty Seconds.

I'm pretty sure they're the only two times I've been pulled over since your high beam thing. Apart from RBTs, but they don't count.

    • Yeah well per the video it took 15s for the stock unit to start up....even if I give it a few seconds discount for starting that is at least 12 sec before you get a reverse camera if you are trying to leave a park.  The android unit is way faster, but 2016 for the stock unit is a long time ago in consumer electronics
    • Yea that’s why I said ima test them with multimeter and see the reads.
    • Only at idle. Isn’t a problem when rev it seems.
    • @Haggerty This seems silly to ask, but are you confident in your ability to tune the Haltech?
    • Next on the to-do list was an oil and filter change. Nothing exciting to add here except the oil filter is in a really stupid place (facing the engine mount/subframe/steering rack). GReddy do a relocation kit which puts it towards the gearbox, I would have preferred towards the front but there's obviously a lot more stuff there. Something I'll have to look at for the next service perhaps. First time using Valvoline oil, although I can't see it being any different to most other brands Nice... The oil filter location... At least the subframe wont rust any time soon I picked up a genuine fuel filter, this is part of the fuel pump assembly inside the fuel tank. Access can be found underneath the rear seat, you'll see this triangular cover Remove the 3x plastic 10mm nuts and lift the cover up, pushing the rubber grommet through The yellow fuel line clips push out in opposite directions, remove these completely. The two moulded fuel lines can now pull upwards to disconnect, along with the wire electrical plug. There's 8x 8mm bolts that secure the black retaining ring. The fuel pump assembly is now ready to lift out. Be mindful of the fuel hose on the side, the hose clamp on mine was catching the hose preventing it from lifting up The fuel pump/filter has an upper and lower section held on by 4 pressure clips. These did take a little bit of force, it sounded like the plastic tabs were going to break but they didn't (don't worry!) The lower section helps mount the fuel pump, there's a circular rubber gasket/grommet/seal thing on the bottom where the sock is. Undo the hose clip on the short fuel hose on the side to disconnect it from the 3 way distribution pipe to be able to lift the upper half away. Don't forget to unplug the fuel pump too! There's a few rubber O rings that will need transferring to the new filter housing, I show these in the video at the bottom of this write up. Reassembly is the reverse Here's a photo of the new filter installed, you'll be able to see where the tabs are more clearing against the yellow OEM plastic Once the assembly is re-installed, I turned the engine over a few times to help build up fuel pressure. I did panic when the car stopped turning over but I could hear the fuel pump making a noise. It eventually started and has been fine since. Found my 'lucky' coin underneath the rear seat too The Youtube video can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLJ65pmQt44&t=6s
