Recommended Posts

He hasn't been back at my place since, and haven't heard anything, so am hoping that's the end of the matter.

thats the going rate. I will have one here tomorrow night if you do no good there. Mint. (hate that word)

My guess would be a light automotive course. Seems like every new apprentice we get these days is a knuckle dragger too lazy to do a decent days work

Ok so i went to my local tyre shop this arvo. Question to y'all does anyone want new rims?

I can get 2 sets:

Work Meister S1

18x8 +35 / 18x10 +22

Polish Silver Finish 2 peice

Offers around $2500-$3000

Work Emotion XD9

18x9 +30 / 18x10 +22

Magnesium Finish

Offers around $1500 - $2000

They are brand new in box never had tyres fitted, all 5x114.3 and all legit. If you want them PM me and i'll put you in touch with them

Far out those XD9's are cheap. Tempting.

make an offer miso, he wants them gone.

If i had a complete 5 stud conversion ready for my 31 i would be buying those Meisters.

got it in one >_<

This is a new one :S

fitted 20mm spacers (very good quality ones from japan) and long wheel studs for the spacers to eliminate the bolt on studs.
So you are using bolt-on spacers as slip-ons?
they are bolt on, i have removed the bolt on bolts to allow the long wheel studs to go through instead, plus i heard that is a lot safer
lol thats not safer at all
i got told it was safer by a wheel shop to run spacers like this, so there is less stress on the indside wheel studs on the spacers. they advised me that they wont snap like this.
The wheel shop in question must be a bunch of incompetent twats.

Final quote was me >_<

quoting is where its at col.....

although i hear its better to only run 2 studs with spacers to reduce the stress...

geoff you know you want to buy sweet rims...

Sweet rims indeed. But no, not interested today, sorry. I'm happy with the ones I've got (not got the spare cash and theres more important things to do to mine first anyhow).

John's day at school

I went to an Epson training day a few weeks ago which pretty much entailed of me doing everything really really quickly so I could get the f**k out of there before someone would ask me where I work and then proceed to tell me how much better their job is than mine for the eleventy millionth time.

On a side note, checked all the hoses tonight on the skyrice, I didn't have enough light but I could hear a slight psssss sound, so I'm going to replace the hoses from the boost controller + bov.

Oh, and John if the series 1 afm pwnd had will work on a series 2, I'll come and pick it up from you on friday or saturday if that's cool.

Tell Andrew that if he wants someone who actually wants to do the work, and actually wants to learn, that I'll still come work for him. The course is done in 4 weeks :(

PSSSSSSS noises aren't good in.... See if you can get a leak tester :D

As far as I'm aware - series 1 is green, series 2 is pink. I only say this because when I was looking for one I got told a green label from a series 1 25 would work on my 20. *shrug* Best bet is if Miso can bring it along, I'll just grab it and we'll try and see what happens.

Jason has some spare coil packs for a 25 now that I think of it. Maybe he'll let you borrow them to trouble shoot further if the AFM isn't the problem. You'll have to ask reallll nice like though :(

Noel, your car is Mint.

@John: Lol

Alvin ROOLZ

    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car.
    • It's not that straightforward. For example I have had this code because my ignitor/power transistor wires were unplugged. It knows something is wrong but has no idea what it means. If you want to actually diagnose this I recommend following the service manual flowchart for code 21. Ohm out the harness, coilpacks, inspect the ECU, etc. And again, it's entirely possible for there to be no problem at all but if you're running a different coilpack it'll trigger the code because it doesn't like what it sees.
    • If it (the code) wasn't still current, it should have gone away by itself by now. No, nothing it 10/10. But it is quite likely. Everything else to do with the ignition could still be responsible (which is wires and connectors). The car is an old piece of shit now, so all the wires and connectors are also old pieces of shit.
